Oscar Worthy Performance from Wahlberg
Quite simply, the film is really good. I am not the kind to see feel good faith based movies. But this movie was not a saccharine, cringey affair. The scenes were realistically portrayed. There was nothing sugar coated about anything. I took my New Age gf, who loved it, and even cried a little. Mark Wahlberg really carries the film on his broad shoulders. this is the best film performance I've seen in some time. I recommend the movie highly.

Excellent movie!
Intelligent true story of a troubled but likeable man who becomes a Catholic priest. Unlike many Christian movies, this film is realistic and respects the faith. Some graphic language. Highly recommended!

A powerful and touching true story...
Incredibly good and very touching movie....and I'm not even a Christian. It brought tears to my eyes. Father Stu is a true story of courageous faith in the face of pain and suffering. It's about how a person can change for the better...and how strength can be found in brokenness. Father Stu is an example to us all. Just pre-ordered the DVD. This movie is a keeper.

Gritty Inspiring Film and Storyline
This is a very inspiring film that is well filmed, well scripted, and propelled by Wahlberg’s endearing portrayal of the main character. The storyline is something of the classic hero’s journey, with an unlikely hero — which resolves in paradox that is so often seen in transformation (Richard Rohr). There is some insider Catholic humor sprinkled in, and just as many misadventures that will be familiar to those of us in the recovery community. That all said, it is a good inspiring film for anyone of any denomination and wellness status and maybe just looking for a story that keeps you fueled up for your own life journey, whatever that may be for you. Some sanctimonious cynics are already bashing the film and Wahlberg, and that’s not a surprising reaction to a gritty “real life” gut-check story about alternating faith and doubt that is probably something that more of us know about than those sanctimonious cynics anyway. Geez…it’s OK to be inspired, encouraged…and after all, you should be! You are worthy! Enjoy the film and think about your own doubt, faith, and that you may be loved more than you ever understood yourself to be. Enjoy it! Peace and Good!

Excellent Film
Marky Mark did a great job in this entertaining movie. The movie has a lot of heart to it and takes the subject matter serious. There is a lot of adult subject matter so be warned. But don't let that stop you from watching the movie.

Moving story of faith through adversity
An excellent film showing a rough around the edges man who was shown a better path in life and still chose to keep going despite his illness. It's a refreshing change of pace to have a true story that uplifts it's viewers and celebrates faith. Well worth watching.

Snubbed by Sony. I thought Jesus came for everyone?
Sony blacked out this movie in theaters with less than 10 screens. Our local theater only has 8 screens. The next closest theater is $50 away by gas.
