Excellent Quality: Built In Internal Charger; Very Bright
The overall build quality is just flawless. There no defects or blemishes. Everything functions perfectly. Charging port is built right in behind the reflector section, with a threaded metal collar including gaskets protecting it. There is an indicator led that shows whether its in a charge/full state (red/green). This is much safer imo than an external charger as the cells are sealed in a metal tube; in the event of malfunction. This uses a standard USB-c connection. It eliminates the need to bring a separate charger as well. Cells are removeable and replaceable though the rear of the light. UI is easy to use, all controlled by two buttons on the tailcap. Memory for the last brightness level used. There is no direct mode to turbo that I've noticed, or is obvious; but the second button does initiate strobe that cycles slow/fast every 3 seconds or so. The beam has a 2.5 foot spot at 10 feet with a slight donut hole in center given the smooth reflector and square led diode. It spills enough at all brightness levels to be useful regardless of the task. This isn't like a LEP white laser. Throw is about as far as I can see clearly with the naked eye on turbo. This flashlight is unbeliveably bright on Turbo, which ramps down after the first minute. Heat builds up rather quickly despite its heft. Glare at max brightness makes it almost unusable on a humid night, the beam itself makes it hard to see downrange. Low or Med is bright enough for most uses. The light could use a lower low for up close, as the hotspot is rather intense; at the risk of having too many options to cycle through. Low is enough light to see where I'm walking or most everyday tasks anyway. The beam will start burning some materials up close, including skin on Turbo; so not for children or irresponsible persons. Do not look directly into the beam.

High quality, solid light!
I love this thing! I went with the Fenix after a co-worker showed me his. I have always had Streamlight flashlights, but they would tend to fail pretty quickly in my line of work. I finally opted to get the TK20R and man I'm glad i did. This thing is BRIGHT!!! The battery actually lasts quite a long time before needing to be charged, which i was happy about. It’s not much bigger than my Streamlight was, and I can comfortably carry it on my belt all day. It also has 5 light settings, which is nice to have! Setting 3 is plenty bright! Good quality for the money! So if you're in the market for a new flashlight, this is the one.

The new gold standard
I am a retired engineer and a flashlight lover. I used flashights daily in my professional career and was continually seeking the all-around best light. This is it. The Fenix TK20 v2.0 checks all the boxes. I basically ignore the advertised max lumens since that level of intensity can generally not be maintained for more than a couple minutes. But the first step down in intensity is usually more sustainable. When that second level is 800-1000 lumens and can be sustained for a useful period it is a good light. This meets that first box. The light distribution is perfect. A tight hot spot and nice surrounding flood. By comparison, Fenix TK16 v2.0 is a nearly identical size, shape and output, but lacks the tightly focused hot spot and resulting throw. The dual tail switches are a great concept. The TK20 v2.0 tail switches give me easy access to power and mode without error. Again, by comparison, the siimilar TK16 v2.0 looks to have the same tail switch features BUT a subtle refinement separates the two lights. The lower/smaller Functional Tail Switch on the TK 20.v2.0 sits slightly lower relative to the Tactical Tail Switch than is found on the TK16 v2.0. I get frequent unintentional mode changes when using the Tactical switch on the TK16. Those unintentional mode changes do not occur with the TK20. A subtle conflict exists in modern flashlight features and design where "charging" is concerned. Some, like myself, would prefer to not have a flimsy rubber plug to cover a critical hole in my flashlight preferring to carry a spare battery and charge my spares in a external charger rather than tie-up the light for 3-4 hours while the battery is being charged internally. Others must prefer the USB charging capability. The TK20 v2.0 solves this flawlessly. For those who prefer USB charging, a port is provided but it is nicely hidden and protected under a threaded collar that screws down to reveal the USB port. The best of both worlds! Finally, a word about size. The very nature of the 21700 battery dictates that this light is large for an EDC light. But carry is not impossible. It is a very compact and comfortable size and can be carried in a pocket. I'll compare or contrast this to the Streamlight Stinger 2020. The light output, pattern and battery life is similar on the two lights, but the Stinger cannot be carried in a pocket. If you can manage the relatively higher price of the TK20 v2.0, do it. You will not regret this purchase.
