Rowley39001 Professional Stud Finder

I have a stud sensor but I use this also to double check the stud sensor. The magnet is strong. It works great on sheetrock. Hardie Board not so much...you can find nails sporadically but they might not be for the stud.I definitely recommend this for any DIYer who does occasional picture hanging, electrical work or running cable. It has other uses like finding a dropped nail/screw in grass.Bottomline: you can easily find studs in sheetrock without a stud sensor with this magnet. It's small size and handy storage pouch makes it super nice to carry in your tool bag.

I work for a commercial casework company so we are normally detecting metal studs but this will find screws and nails with ease. You can but less expensive finders but they do not work as well.

I really needed a stud finder that worked. My electronic one never worked well and I pitched it! This is a very strong magnet. It was 20$ or so. Works great. I can find studs anywhere. When I opened the stud finder, men in my family made fun of me for this purchase! Eating their words now!

Just as advertised

Magnet too weak for commercial stud finding. Wood or metal studs seems like 5/8ths drywall is too thick for it. Stud buddy is stronger and actually finds. Even with this Magnet held against the wall there was barely a pull.

Magnet is high powered. Great for use in commercial CFMF. Actually high powered enough to go through 5/8" drywall plus 3/8" tile and mortar all at once. Very useful. Worth the slightly high price.

I needed to find the screws in a sheet rock suspended ceiling, found three in minutes. The building is 5/8th sheet rock metal stud. It will find the studs. It's a great addition to any DIY tool box.
