These “STEPPER MOTOR SHIELE V1” units are bad news. They don’t do the very thing they have been designed to do, which is isolate the higher voltage battery circuit from the lower voltage logic. They are a rip off of a design that has not been available for a long time, and there is no documentation available anywhere online. Therefore, there is no indication that the higher voltage intended to power the motor ends up at the vcc pin that powers the internal logic. The higher voltage can also appear at the en and in pins. Fried two development boards figuring this out, which made the “savings” on this quite expensive.Figured I could pop out the LD293D IC chip and at least use those, but 2 of them were DOA. Probably another reason these boards didn’t work.Save your time and money, don’t buy these bad shields that should have been tossed in the recycling pile.
