What is the height when its fully extended (NOT the package size-actually assembled), i'm putting it where ceilings are not standard height?

If the handles are adjusted to the highest position, the handles will extend to about just short of 8 feet. I'm a 6 footer and I have it positioned to reach about 7 feet at full stretch.

I have low ceilings in my basement. When they say 6' 6" is that the highest point if you extend it that far?

I don't believe you'll be able to use this machine in a low ceiling residence. Though ultimately that'll depend on how tall you are and how low the ceiling is. I'm 6'2 and certainly cannot use it in a low ceiling room.

Does the xl 2000 fold up and what is the foot print?

It can fold flat to hide under a bed. The foot print while up for exercise is about 3 X 6.

Is it better to buy off Amazon or maxi climber company? I’m afraid of buying it here and then having maxi climber not replacing any parts?

The quick answer is that it seems problematic to order this product from either Amazon or Maxiclimber.com (Inova), but if you're going to do it, I'd encourage you to make sure you order it from Amazon when they are offering free returns. We tried two different machines and both broke down due to what seemed like small, cheap, and easy to repair pieces failing. We were/are grateful we had the backstop of Amazon's free returns to send both of them back, although boxing them back up is a bit of a project, too. With the first fail (one of the small gray rubber rollers on the R. foot piece), I first contacted Maxiclimber (Inova) by phone at their 1-800 number hoping I could get something as simple as them mailing out a replacement piece and maybe referring me to a video to repair it. Instead the guy on the phone said I needed to supply all of the following by e-mail before they would engage with me: Full name Phone Shipping Address Amazon Proof of Purchase Reason for the problem Attach pictures and videos demonstrating the problem Serial # of the machine "File a claim" with "service" at Amazon Amazon has no such process to "file a claim" with service I learned after a long chat with Amazon nor any way to provide customers with any repair parts. Their only solution was to ship the machine back for exchange or refund. At no little loss of time, I provided all of the above information to Maxiclimber (Inova) by e-mail, trying to give them an opportunity to save the sale and their response was now "since you bought it through Amazon you need to deal with Amazon for any repair or returns." So...I returned the whole dang machine to Amazon for want of what was probably a $0.25 piece failing rubber and instructions on how to disassemble and repair it myself. Because I still liked the feeling of the workout from the machine pre-failure, I asked for an exchange. But...the 2nd machine also had a failing part...this time one of the white plastic rollers around the midsection of the machine. I gave up and sent it back to Amazon for a refund within the free return period. Quite a frustrating experience, as the machine gave a good workout before it broke down and seemed like it could have been repaired if they just would have cared a little more about supporting their product better.
