Great soldering set!
I used this set to solder together a stained glass window piece. This set is very well priced for the amount of tools/items that are included. The best part of the entire set is the stand that comes with it cause it's really saved the tops of my counters from getting burn marks in them everywhere!!

Good. Cheap. complete kit.
This is a well put together kit. Everything you need to solder and desolder. Worked well for me to replace soldered in micro light bulbs from an automotive stereo. The kit does seem to be cheaply made however. With my minimal use I’d guess it will be fine. But keep that in mind. I cannot speak to its longevity yet. My resin showed up solidified and crystallized and had powder all over the inside of the box. If it weren’t for that I wouldn’t have a complaint at allUpdate. Over a year later it still works fine. Use it from time to time and it hasn’t let me down.

Worth it!
I bought this kit just hoping it would last me through my learning curb, but it's still going strong after a few months of steady use for hours at a time. The iron works great, and the temp adjustment is wonderful, and most everything in there is serviceable even as cheap as it is. I noticed a few unfair criticisms of the kit components so I'll focus on them. For all of the people confused or angry that the rosin is solid, it's not for applying to electronics. It's meant for you to dip the tip in prior to tinning the tip to assist in the process. It IS supposed to be solid. If it was meant to arrive as a liquid, do you really think they would store it in a cardboard box? If you really want to use it for soldering, break it up and dissolve it in alcohol.I noticed that some people seam to have gotten a Flathead driver and some seem to have gotten Philips. My screwdriver was actually a double bit and I think most others were as well and they didn't notice. Give pull on the head of it and see if it comes out. It's the perfect size for disassembling small electronics. It's also an outlet voltage tester, but the bit's a bit too think to fit in an American socket. As for criticisms: the solder wick is surprisingly repellent even with flux applied. I don't know if it's wound too tight of if it's coated in something, but the solder just sticks to it rather than soaking in which is not very effective. I also have no idea what you could use that copper wire for. It's literally thinner than a hair and it's not insulated so using it as a jumper even in micro-soldering is inadvisable. Maybe if you had to make your own super tiny transformer?Even with the criticisms I'm still giving 5 stars because of the price and the completeness of the kit. Happy with the purchase.

Fine
I can't compare this kit to anything as using it is my first go at soldering, I am a total novice. That said, here is my feedback:Pros:the soldering iron worksthere are a lot of little bits and odds and ends to get you startedCons:The soldering gun holder is something you need to awkwardly assemble and it's pretty lightweight and flimsy. I ended up gluing a heavy chunk of metal to the bottom to keep it from tipping overOverall, the thing is functional and it seems a good deal because of how many items are included. But truthfully it seems pretty flimsy overall, even though functional. But, what else would anyone expect who is spending so little on a soldering kit?

Great starter kit for the price
I have been wanting to get into soldering for a while and this was a great starter kit to get my feet wet. The kit cam complete with a variety of tools and wasn't lacking in any necessary items to do the job. Would recommend this kit or one like it to anyone wanting to start soldering for hobby or business.

A Nice Small Soldering Kit
This is a decent little variable temp soldering iron kit. It has much of the items needed to perform many lightweight soldering jobs. While not for heavy-duty work, it IS well-suited for light electronic soldering tasks.I have no way to determine how accurate the temperature adjustments are. It has a small wheel on the handle that supposedly adjusts the temperature. But, all I can reliably report is that it is hot regardless of the setting. I assume that the temperature adjustment is to allow you to work at the minimum setting just hot enough to melt a particular gauge and composition of solder. But, the kit includes only a very small amount of one type of solder. Personally, I would rather have the kit include more solder (a consumable) rather than a cheesy roll of low quality electrical tape, which seems to lack horribly in adhesive qualities. The kit's little carrying/storage case resembles a tiny fishing tackle box, and is quite adequate for the items that are included in the kit. I bit more room would be appreciated to add extra solder and flux. The case seems fairly sturdy, although it is made of very lightweight plastic. Time will tell how well it lasts in actual use.Overall it is a SOLID 4-star product. More solder, a bit larger case and I'd have rated it 5 stars.
