Another of the Same Type - Just Making the World Louder (edited)
This is the 5th or 6th (honestly don't remember) Hearing Amplifier I bought through Amazon. All but one has been returned. On the plus side this one had no screeching when going into my ear (I only wear one on the left side due to an accident several year ago), all the others did the minute your had got near your ear. This sells for around $80 and the others were at that price and up to $450. In the U.S. I think many people have the idea - if it costs more it is better.First I hear very little difference between the expensive ones and the economical ones. I assume they are all made in China, and for all I do know the inner works may be manufactured by the same company for each seller here in the U.S. The difference may be just in the marketing or business plan. For an exaggeration of what I'm saying what makes a Rolls Royce cost $485,000 while a Toyota is $45,000. They both do the same thing and you can't convince me the RR materials add an extra $440,000 to the formula. It is just different marketing philosophy.Getting back to a review of this product - the devices seem to do what they were designed to do - that is amplify the sound so it is louder. If you do go to a audiologist, spend a lot more money, they will design a device that addresses your hearing impairment, not just amplify the sound. I also have tinnitus and regardless of what they say these type amplifiers can do nothing to help with that. A "real" hearing aid can be designed to mask the tinnitus to a certain extent. What these do is amplify the sound OVER the tinnitus so hopefully you hear it better. As I said above (so far) these amplifiers sound better than their compatriots. We see after a few weeks how they are when lived with more. One thing I will say, in general, don't buy the ones that are not rechargeable - you'll spend more on batteries in a year than the device cost in the first place, and you'll curse every time the battery goes dead when your at a gathering.A FEW DAYS LATERAfter wearing it for a few days I ran into a issue. Having it on in my car with the A/C blasting (I'm in Florida 92°F already) it sounds like a jet engine in the car. Tried redirecting the vents but it made no difference. Had to remove the unit. So if you get these and you encounter this scenario - or I assume strong wind, be prepared for a jet engine in your ears, or just take them out and replace them when you back to a controlled environment.

Great sound
It amazed me on how well I was able to hear more things when wearing these hearing aids. Who knew my hearing was as bad as it is.Was easy enough to get set up. Just nice and slow working each piece so that the sound and fit are comfortable in both ears. A little adjusting but nothing too difficult to do.Happy to have these for the use in the house.

Good place to start if you are on a budget.
These hearing aids aren't going to solve every hearing problem in the book. Some people will need programmable aids. But if you're looking for amplification, you have an excellent choice here. The price makes it impossible to not try out. Pretty sure amazon hasa return policy if you are dis-satisfied.I'm keeping mine even though the amplification isn't perfect.(I need directional help as well.) But overall it's hard to complain for $200..A very good purchase.
