This is a book to read slowly and to contemplate. A good starting place if you are new to the message of Hazrat Inayat Khan, or if you've been a Sufi initiate for years.

Wonderful book for anyone involved with the Inayat Order or other sufi practices.

After reading an original version of Volume 10 that a coworker let me borrow, I was very much excited to read this upon receiving it. To my disappointment though, the introduction immediately made clear that this edition has many changes made to reflect our current times and society. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered this, and when we’re dealing with the subject of mysticism, removing any aspect of gender to show neutrality hurts the esoteric meanings of these texts. I understand society is moving in this direction, but understanding the masculine and feminine energies on an internal understanding is a very important aspect of mysticism and philosophy. This has nothing to do with men being a more dominant species or vice versa. When the writings become gender neutral, this aspect of these teachings become lost.

A great reissue of writings of the Sufimaster Hazrat Inayat Khan. So up-to-date as in the time when it was brought first probably a 100 years ago! Great book!
