Got the remote today put batteries in it and it started to overheat and the remote never worked

My best friend gave me his receiver, no controller. Ordered this controller and zero hassle, works well. Giving back this receiver it’s for to my friend, since I bought a new one and repaired one of mine as well. He will be happy, thankful and will be able to remotely control with zero issues.

I bought a thrift store Yamaha receiver with no remote, the receiver worked great but you need the remote to set various parameters for the surround sound, this remote worked great. It doesn't do every single function that the stock remote does, but it does enough to use the receiver properly. Very happy with the purchase.

It worked , which is a plus, but it doesn’t allow all the functions to work properly . It doesn’t seem to have all the sound effects that the old remote had. But it plays stereo, 5 channel stereo and a few more. It. Also activates the subwoofer. It comes with no instructions, but it worked right out of the box. For the price, you can’t go wrong, especially since this Yamaha unit will not work without one.
