Simple to install and does the job! a couple of tips are provided
I just finished installing the shade. It took about 5 min. The instructions were clear and had clear images to assist. A couple of tips (some reiterating those in prior reviews): (1) sharpen your knife, if you have a high quality kitchen knife all the better. My feeling is that if you have low end knives the cutting process may not go as desired, and you might want to borrow a better knife from someone. I sharpened my middle range quality knife just before use and it did the job just fine. The use of the provided plastic cutting guide is crucial for a nice clean cut. (2) As I started cutting I noticed that the distal end (that which will fall off after cutting and not be used) had started to splay and was not remaining compact - which made the cutting harder as the whole shade had wobble to it and was not acting as a uniform solid. Simple fix; I wrapped the distal end tightly with packing tape so it would not wobble and the remainder of the cutting went smoothly. (3) As with any adhesive based item, make sure you clean the surface you plan on attaching to. I have painted walls and I did an interior installation. Last night I washed the interface surface with some general cleaning spray and paper towels and let it dry. Just prior to installation today I gently wiped it again with paper towels to remove any dust that may have accumulated. Stuck perfectly well. Pulled the shade down and goal accomplished. My goal was simply to block visibility through the window as I do not think I'll be doing too much up/down of the shade given the window placing; i.e., it's a privacy issue. The shade does have small open holes in two parallel columns, necessary for its construction, but the light infiltration is minimal (clear sunny sky out there right now). I can't speak to durability (yet) but installation was a breeze.

I've now purchased two more!
I needed a way to shade some windows. But it needed to be: 1. Low Cost 2. Easy on the Eyes 3. A specific size 4. Easy installation Guess what? This shade is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The price is very reasonable. In fact, I would have been willing to pay more (but don't tell the seller!) It's fairly white and low profile so you really don't notice it when not in use. You cut it down to size to fit (I used a steak knife...use a utility knife instead!) Once I cut it down to the correct size, I peeled off the sticky tape backing and pressed it to my window opening for about 30-45 seconds. BOOM! I now have shades! It worked so well, I ended up buying two more. My favorite thing about it, besides the low cost and easy installation is the low profile. They aren't an eyesore when not being used. The only 'con' I can think of is they don't block 100% of the light. BUT, I wasn't expecting it to. I need it to cut out the glare from the sun when I'm at my desk. It works perfectly! I would highly recommend these shades. :)

Don't let the flimsy plastic fool you. This shade does its job well. (UPDATED)
UPDATE (2017 JAN 24): I'm taking away one star because this product lasted less than a year before failing. The spring unit in the base of the device which retracts the cords somehow got messed up and it stopped working altogether. This means the product would not stay retracted in the up position...so it was basically useless and had to be taken down and thrown away. Also, upon removal it left spongy material and glue all over the window frame where it was originally mounted. I have no idea how to get it off without damaging the wood. I want to like this product and, to be honest, I'm considering buying another one that's exactly the same since it did work so well for a year. This thing saved my eyeballs. During the winter months from about 4:00 pm to about 6:00 pm the sun streams like a laser beam into our kitchen window above the sink. Unfortunately, this coincides perfectly to the time(s) I'm preparing and cleaning up from dinner...which means I'm mostly blind during this time. I bought this shade, cut it to fit, and installed it. Wango-tango. Problem solved. At first you might unbox this and think it's a piece of junk. The shade is flimsy plastic and paper, the strings are thin, and there's no obvious way to raise and lower the shade. Oh...and it adheres to the window with (included) double-stick tape. I was not impressed when I first saw it. After cutting it to fit and putting it in place, my perspective completely changed. This thing is exactly what we needed. It's lightweight, it lowers & raises easily, and it's nearly invisible when it's completely raised up. Check out the photos & video. I would buy this again.

A must buy!
Ok where to start? These are amazing and super easy to cut and install. Of course anything is easy if you follow directions. First, DONT BE TEMPTED to buy them used! Amazon does not tell u that they are already cut and useless to you! They are worth the price new trust me. 2nd they are terrific for light blocking. I purchased a bunch of them to put in our three season room it's all metal so it's very difficult to put anything out there I have some spring rods with shears but it just makes it very hot in there these are terrific they keep out the hot sun they go up and down with ease and super easy to install I purchased a cheap $12 hacksaw from Amazon at the same time and it was so worth it. Plan to buy plenty more because they will work great in our RV as well as our Park Model both of which I prefer not to drill into. Highly recommend them super easy to cut super easy to install they look great and we really like them.

EDIT>>>>JUNK NOW they block light, easy to install/operate and look nice and clean.
These are cheap quick ways to cover your windows. If you want stunningly beautiful window treatments, these are not it. They look okay but that's it. They absolutely block the light. How tight you cut them to the side window jambs and stick the head piece tight to the window on the head jamb will reduce the amount of light that "sneaks" around the sides. Some light will get past. I've seen talk of cutting these to size with a kitchen knife, I found that very difficult and it left a poor/jagged edge. I used a cut-off or chop saw. I sandwiched the blind between 2 wood blocks to prevent it from fraying and it worked great just cut slowly. The honey-comb pleats seamed to get stuck/melted together slightly from this cutting method but once they were hung it was easy to slowly release them while pulling the shade down. When it is hot or cold outside and I open these I can feel that the air between the back of the blind and the window is much hotter/colder in relation to the room temp. That tells me that these actually do help to insulate against the outdoor temps. We had these for about 4 years in our old house and bought them for our new house now. We only had one that began to develop a crack in the bottom plastic rail but I chalk that up to my kids being a little rough with them on the pull down. They do not have any exposed strings to endanger kids/pets or annoy adults. EDIT March 2017; These used to be a 5 star! The ones we had in our old house were great for at least 4 years. I bought the same thing I thought. They look the same but haven't lasted 1.5 years. They won't retract. We really don't even use them that much so it's not overuse or abuse. They just will not retract and stay up anymore. So then when you hold it up so you can open the window for some breeze a little wind comes along and shreds them and twists them all up. They changed something and they are junk now. I still say they are easy to install and look pretty clean and nice when first installed but do not waste your time and hassle...it's not worth the low price. On top of it I ordered a couple more to complete the rest of the windows and they came out looking different...it's not really honey comb anymore so they are not as insulating and you can see these annoying little dots of sunlight coming through the creases where the string tracks down through the shade pleats. Even these do not function anymore. When I have the money I will rip down the the ones that are not already gone and buy a more quality shade. Not sure what happened but shame on Shades Unlimited for lowering their quality.

Trim both sides
I have ordered many “trim to size” shades like this so I did just that. Unfortunately this shade has 2 vertical cords running through it, a detail none of my others had, and the cords weren’t visible until I trimmed them to size and hung them. Now the cords look uneven since I wasn’t instructed to trim from both sides not just one to even them out. The shades are good quality, great looking and work nicely but I can’t use them looking uneven and unbalanced.

Easy Peasy~ Affordable!
I have a confession: I am the worst and writing reviews. Not that I cannot articulate, but that I just don’t take the time. That said, this little blind humbled me in its simplicity and affordability. I have a bedroom turned workout room that I have been wanting a shade for that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg since basically this room is for sweating… But it also doubles as an extra room because it has a pulldown Murphy bed, and when I have my grandkids, they sleep on it. So the window covering needed to be dark enough to keep out the sun as I don’t need three year-old grandkids up at 6:30 in the morning…👀 Back to the product: I read the reviews, and I understood that this particular blind may not look “sturdy,“ yet it is functional and it has solid reviews. At a little over $30 I didn’t expect much. But I have to say, I watched the video on how to install it and I love that it doesn’t require any drilling or tools. That is a plus! My husband was skeptical and feels like it won’t last, but I assured him that my delight for such a nice looking functional window covering, at an affordable price, exceeds the $30 some dollars I spent- even if it only lasts a couple of years. I gave it five stars because it was easy to install, it came packaged well. Follow the directions simply and without a hitch. It is exactly as it is stated. Hopefully it will stay in place for a long time! If not… You will hear from me. I will update this review!😁👀

Fantastic shade!
I absolutely love these shades (my 3rd one now)! They are very light weight, so keep that in mind for application (they move quite a bit in high winds such as with vertical windows). They’re fairly easy to cut (definitely requires some muscle to cut). But the stick on strip is the easiest installation ever! Granted, the adhesive does take a day or two to “set”, so don’t be surprised if a side or two droops off. Just press it back on. After a few days, it’ll be set and won’t come off again.

Good but a bit pricey
I needed a temporary black out blind solution as I've just had a baby and am in the process of moving home. I needed to create a darkened room to help my child nap- I normally just have a regular blind and like to wake up with natural light. It was easy to install, durable as it gets put up and down quite a bit! Only drawbacks are it's a bit pricey for what it is and not easy to get a smooth edge on the part you have to trim to fit. Also just be aware it's not completely black out as light shines through the holes where the string is attached. All that said, if your looking for a temporary solution - it's good, does the job and when it's folded up, it's very unobtrusive.

No sirven
Se caen de inmediato. Son demasiado pesadas para el mal pegamento que tienen. No las recomiendo
