This is the second set of cleaning baskets I've purchased for cleaning watch parts. As I stated in my other review, these baskets work for the purpose I bought them for, but I probably will not buy any more of them. There's no problem using them to clean the parts in my ultrasonic cleaner; they do that just fine. Despite these being better made than the simpler "round ball" type of mesh baskets, they just don't close as precisely as I'd hoped. And while none of these baskets popped open in the tank, as did some of the round baskets did, I think I'm going to eventually replace all of this type of "clam-shell" opening basket with the ones that have screw-on lids. The price for these baskets is reasonable, and as mentioned earlier they are of better construction than the simpler round baskets. Perhaps it's just a matter of preference, but it does seem to make sense that the more precise and secure method of having screw-on lids over "pop-tops" probably appeals to someone that is practicing working on something as precise as mechanical watches with their close tolerances and precision-fitting jeweled movements.

Overall the baskets are adequate to do the intended job of holding small items together so they can be dunked into an ultrasonic cleaning machine. However, the chains that come attached to the baskets are of poor quality, and I found that the links easily disconnect. Once this happens you will need to dip your hands, or use tongs in order to get the baskets back out of the cleaning solution. Chain breaks occurred to more than one basket, and on my very first use. Also, my baskets were not overloaded with heavy parts. I remedied the problem by taking some old cuckoo clock chain that I had laying around, and replaced the factory chains (just kept original end hooks). The cuckoo chains are much better quality and did the job the original chains could not do! So if you purchase this set of baskets be prepared to put heavier duty chains on the baskets.

These stainless steel baskets work very well for cleaning small parts in a ultrasonic cleaner but only the 2 larger baskets are useful if you intend to use them for cleaning small carburetor parts as i do. be aware that chains may be tangled and may be missing end clips but no big deal as i made my own end clips using paper clips.

My wife ordered these to use in her ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. She especially likes the smaller baskets as she can separate smaller items while cleaning. They are well-made and reasonably priced.

These are suspended in a sonic cleaner with small pieces.
