Had this for about a year before I installed it on my boat trailer. I continued to use my old setup until the nylon rope finally broke. Since installing this I have used it a total of 4 times. The locking mechanism does not lock and it looks like the I guess screw that connects to the locking mechanism is bent. I have a 14 foot aluminum boat that I can actually pick up and move around on my trailer to make sure it's center so it's nowhere even close to the rated capacity this winch can pull. Probably 400lbs loaded max. I pull the boat onto the trailer in the water and finish securing it with this winch and now I need a new one. 4 uses that's it. Absolute garbage and I'll get another brand with hopefully better components. Avoid this and buy a better quality.
