Heaven for Kids

Helpful to read through with our children. It covered a lot of interesting topics.

I recently went on hospice and wanted to focus on what the Bible teaches about heaven. Although this book is aimed at teaching children the biblical view of heaven, I found it quite helpful as an adult. There were many insights that I had never thought of before. The book is written so children should easily understand it. The author draws on many illustrations from The Chronicles of Narnia. I highly recommend this book for children. Dawn Bailey

Wow... I'm very impressed with the many levels of thought the author had put into this easy read that I hope both of my young children will read soon, too. Upon finishing, I read that he also lives in my old home town area... how exciting that was, too! I highly recommend this book to any and all. From believers to non, I truly feel this book is just an amazing "feel good" read but also the best part is,it's TRUE that we have such a glorious God who has this much love for us. The insight and thought put in, from will we look the same as we do now, to will we have home, travel in space and time, to having pets and reuniting with loved ones who have already passed. Things I'd never really contemplated about Heaven are thought about and penned so well in what I'd believe would be the best of our ability (or shall I say inability) as mere human beings can imagine or comprehend. Very interesting !

When I talk about spiritual things sometimes people say I'm like a child. Reading this book made me feel the excitement of a child who is going on vacation to a new place. If heaven is going to be our future permanent home then don't you think it would be fun to know all about it? In this book Randy Alcorn answers a great deal of questions. Will we have pets in heaven? Will we eat in heaven? How will we travel? Will we have real bodies? Will we see God? Will we talk to Jesus? Will we have the same nationality as on earth? So many questions and this book is quite long! There are lots of fun ideas like how we might learn many different languages or how we might get to invent and explore. There is a little bit of information on what the New Heaven and New Earth will look like. There is also a description of the New Jerusalem. This book explains that we will never get bored in heaven. It also explains how we might explore the universe. This book not only explains heaven in great detail but it also tells children how to make sure they are going to heaven. I can recommend this book to kids but parents might also love reading it. The only thing I think they could have done was to create pictures. Instead they have pictures of the same kid's faces all through the book. Some pictures of how an artist might imagine heaven would have been fantastic. Maybe they'll think of that in the future. We own the hardback book Heaven - this paperback Heaven for Kids - and the 64-page booklet made for sharing Heaven: Biblical Answers to Common Questions and they are ALL wonderful. Heaven , the original, longer, hardback book, is a much more in-depth treatment and argument for understanding heaven scripturally (physical, all that is good, richness) rather than how Heaven has been defined culturally (white, fluffy, harps). I have enjoyed this book Heaven for Kids because it was so much easier to get through and quickly understand than the big book (whether kid or adult ;). This series of books is endorsed by Hank Hanigraff of the Christian Research Institute which I view as the litmus test of bible-based trustworthiness. Thus, I feel confident in its assertions and presentations. Will there be dogs in heaven? Well God created them and called them good ~ why wouldn't there be? Learn more about the current earth, the new heaven & new earth, and all that God has revealed about life eternal in this wonderful book. Bon Appetit!

My son was asking so many questions about heaven, eternity, and death and I didn’t feel fully equipped to answer in an age-appropriate way. This book was so helpful! We never read it cover to cover, we just went to the questions he had and read those parts. This is not just a book, it’s a tool to have on your shelf for when those hard topics come up!

A great book, which works as a discussion starter as I read it through with my three children (aged 6, 8 & 11). The children relate well with the Chronicles of Narnia quotes and we've used it to discuss beautiful places we know now & what heaven and the new earth will be like. It's given each of us something more to hope for and we read am exert every morning at breakfast. I'd recommend it to everyone!

I like the paperback version of this book because it is light and easy to carry around. This is also a great read for kids and it simplifies really difficult concepts into a language the kids understand. I read the actual Heaven book and found it a bit heavy/technical so this kids version helped me too. The book uses lighthearted illustrations, analogy and language which I appreciate. I encourage anyone who knows kids that are curious about this topic or may wonder where loved ones have gone, to order this book and help kids understand a challenging topic.

I've been studying Randy's book "Heaven" for several years and have been blessed and encouraged by his words. I have two 13-yr-old grandsons and thought that this book might be suitable for them. I haven't read it completely but I already see that it is going to be perfect for what I have in mind. Both boys attend Christian summer camps and one goes to a Christian school 'but what do they really know about Heaven and what can they expect to look forward to, especially in this uncertain time in which we are living? So I'm ordering two more copies and while on vacation with them both in January we're going to have a bit of a study together each day. From what I've seen of this book, it's just what I was looking for. I'm also recommending it to a teenage friend who coaches adolescent girls in a study group. Very relevant.

Randy Alcorn has a superb writing style that really engages children on this huge subject. My 10 year old found this inspiring and it has led to many interesting discussions in the family. Also a very helpful introduction to the subject of Heaven if as an adult you struggle to read his "bigger" book, although we would recommend that as well!!

Great reading for children to give them an understanding of death, heaven and eternal live.
