Perfect, exactly what my daughter wanted!
My daughter (now eight) has always had a love for nature. She pauses, looks and maybe interacts. I have encouraged this since she was tiny. As a nature-lover myself I don't think the appreciation of the bugs around you is taught to children enough. They are just taught to be be fearful as the parent's may be without much information on how that bug benefits the planet.Anyway, I plant and encourage a lot of bee-friendly plants in our garden and we recently had a conversation about the different types of bees you get. We get miner bees every year in the front garden every year, and I love them. She's learnt from us hosting them every year that bees are just going to to do their mission and just leave them be (bee). They ignore us the same way. Like any bee, they are on their pollen mission, they do not sting unless they perceive a huge threat (because that's a kamikaze mission). Nothing to be scared of - and she loves watching themWe do love the bumble bees though - some of them are so huge I joke I can see a mini-pilot! Aerodynamically they should not fly - but they do. We have a special love for them when they come for my bee-friendly plants. My daughter calls them 'chonky bees' and loves them so much. One day I randomly decided to look up bee soft toys and Amazon did not disappoint! It's as and cute chonky, and squishy as my daughter always dreamed. 'Chonky Bee' should really pay rent here now, the amount he is involved in family things!
