It’s only been a day but if I don’t write this review now I won’t ever. I’ll forget about it. This unit is easy to install & cools as expected. It took a long time to cool my space at first, but I installed it at 5pm on a day it was 101 outside. Once it got my space cooled down, it seems to be maintaining perfectly. I seen many reviews that stated that it wouldn’t stay on the setting it was set to and would default back to “auto”. Thats only if you have it in ECO MODE. If you don’t have it in ECO mode it will stay on the setting you choose to set it on. That was one of the things I was concerned about and almost didn’t purchase based on that. So I wanted to emphasize that it will absolutely stay on the chosen temp when it’s NOT in ECO mode. I’m glad I purchased it & didn’t let those reviews prevent me from purchasing. Works very well and for the money it’s totally a great purchase. I want to suggest sitting it in the upright position for about 4 hours before installing. I noticed the delivery person had it on it’s side. So you should wait at least 3 or 4 hours before you actually turn it on.

Works perfectly. Gets very cold. Is heavy so you may need help. Easy to read control. Very quite.

So, here’s my layout. My house is a little over 1000 square feet and despite only being 10000 Btu it does a respectable job of keeping the place cool.Even in our current 95 plus heat this ac keeps the living room and kitchen between 77 and 82. 82 might seem high but it feels pretty damn good with the dreo fan.The bed rooms are around 85. I keep a small 5000 Btu in the main bedroom for when i sleep.At 85 degrees outside it keeps the house in the low 70s.The dry setting works as a dehumidifier and seems to work fairly fast, though in our current heat only seems to drop it one to two percent within an hour.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I purchased 2 of these a/c units on May 30th. Only one is working at this point. The other will not cool. The compressor will not kick on. I have reached out to Black & Decker product support and they are less than helpful. I submitted all of the information, proof of purchase, multiple photos, videos of the issue only to receive an additional email stating they need more proof that it is not functioning. The fact that I paid $300 for an a/c unit and it is no longer working and I cannot get a replacement/repair is absurd.

The box came damaged. The ac makes a lot of noise, didn't even start blowing cold air. Some broken parts in it makes some noise as well. Disaster. I have to take this heavy box myself and return it. Disaster. DO NOT BUY IT. DO NOT BUY IT. I REALLY MEAN IT.
