I can sit on my rocking recliner and rock myself just by swinging it back and forth in my hand. Next, it's beautifully polished giving an interesting reflection when you look into it. Finally, it has an amazingly soft hand-feel. It's good to let it slide from hand to hand while watching TV. I was skeptical, but I'm glad I bought this one. The box was pretty beat up when it arrived, but there was no damage to the copper or the nice glass stand that's included. Recommended! Review: Solid Copper Sphere - Oligodynamic??? My new word-for-the-day. This hunk of copper is pleasing to look at and hold. It looks good on the living room table and visitors gravitate to it. I immediately double waxed it, knowing how easily copper patinas naturally. This should keep it nice and shiny. As others have mentioned, there are fine scratches and it’s not exactly round. From a distance it is fine though and we are pleased to have it around. A sphere of high tolerance for scientific purposes would cost 5x more. The small sphere that came with it was given to a friend’s son who carries the thing everywhere. A large zirconium sphere would be quite something....

Intriguing conversation piece
The sole purpose of this item is to be a decorative conversation piece. And in that sense it fulfills this purpose. Anyone who sees it will, more than likely, inquire about it. From a couple feet away it has a certain majestic allure to it. It will draw the eyes and spark curiosity. Up close it does have very fine, but somewhat noticeable, surface...ahem...scuffs I guess. I wouldn’t call them scratches as they are not detectable by feel and they aren’t really distracting by any means. They are also pretty much uniform across the entire surface as well. And by that I mean you don’t have areas that appear more “scuffed” then other areas, it’s more like it’s just part of the finish. I think they only come to mind because from even a very slight distance, like a couple feet or so, it has such a visual attraction that you expect a perfect mirror type finish to it. So when you see it up close you do notice that it isn’t quite that perfect mirror finish that you imagined. It’s such a slight issue that I’ve probably already overemphasized it. But I felt that this should at least be mentioned if I was going to be completely honest about my impressions. It comes with a white cloth glove and a polishing cloth which are definitely useful and even add to the appeal because as you can guess this thing is a fingerprint magnet. But a quick wipe of the polishing cloth and handeling with the glove will quickly bring it back to its original luster. And speaking of handeling, this is my favorite aspect. It has a nice, significant heft to it. I have the 1 kilogram version and the weight always surprises me when I handle it. This is the best part of showing the piece to others, the weight always surprises. So I do enjoy it and it serves the purpose that I purchased it for which is to have an interesting display item that intrigues. I have it displayed on a bookshelf with other various curiosities that I have picked up over the years and it fits in nicely. Besides the finish to the item that I described earlier, the only other issue I have is the price. I do feel like the price is a little high. But I guess that’s more of a personal choice. At first I didn’t feel the “wow” factor I expected for the price I paid but I will say that after having it for a few weeks I have enjoyed the responses to it that I’ve gotten from friends and family. So maybe that’s where the real value is.

This is as close to perfect as one can buy!
Round perfection. Any reviewer who’s commented that the sphere is not perceptively perfect is lying. This is EXACTLY what it’s claimed to be and is awesome.

Copper Sphere
I think there is something about metal spheres. Not everyone does and I accept that. But, for those who do, this copper sphere is gorgeous. Nice weight, much heavier than you would expect. The high gloss finish does pick up fingerprints like a demon, but the supplied cloth and glove are perfect for polishing your ball back to a beautiful shine. Difficult to justify the cost if pressed, but I am glad I have one on my desk.

Super shiny!
I bought this product because of my affinity for copper and I thought it would look nice on my desk. The finish is mirror-like so be prepared for fingerprints, especially since everyone who sees it will want to touch it. It does come with a polishing cloth and glove for handling. Also included are a smaller copper sphere and several rings to use as stands. It all comes in a padded box, and the copper spheres are vacuum-sealed in plastic. After polishing several times, you may see some very small scratches on the surface of the sphere. This is probably due to the coarseness of the polishing cloth and would probably come off with a softer cloth and some polishing compound (maybe Mothers or similar?).

Really nice copper sphere.
This copper sphere is one of the bigger ones I could find. I bought it for my wife for our 7th anniversary since she is really into decorative spheres. The packaging was really nice. There was also a tiny copper sphere included that is about 1/2" in diameter. That was an unexpected bonus. Only thing I would recommend would be to get a better stand for the sphere. The two rings that are included leave a little bit to be desired.
