Took my chance with this trimmer after reading through a lot of unhappy reviews and complaints. 1. I am completely satisfied with this grass string trimmer. The cutting ability for a machine that size is good. 2. Writing this after using it for 4 continuous days for atleast 3 hrs everyday and had no problem with it. The whole body is plastic and can be detached, was continuously checking if the motor got hot but surprisingly it never did the whole time but still I gave it some short break every 30-40 mins. Once you get the hang of it, it gets easier to operate, doesn't feel heavy at all, going through the user manual helped. 3. Depending on the usage the plastic string keeps getting cut or shortened, you'll have to manually pull some out every time this happens. Eventually you'll have to buy a replacement when you run out. 4. The length of the power cable is very short so you will need an extension cord to use this. 5. The cutting speed and power is good enough to cut through grass or anything similar. I did a very close trim to an overgrown mexican grass, very time consuming. Would only recommend for small- medium sized lawn. Close contact with rocks, walls or other hard surfaces will damage the string and the plastic casing. Bought it for 2,699. Satisfied with the product, packed it to use it again after 6 months(Hopefully it works then). Only question is about the maintenence of the machine after usage, the manual didn't have any information on it.

It is good, light weight, can be used for domestic use. Price looks okay since it is branded. I started using it. It does great job. The spool is very delicate. The supplied spool string finished very fast. I searched whole market, 1.65mm string not available at all. Thus, I had to order online. I have also ordered additional Black and Decker spool for this machine thinking that one day, they will stop spare parts supply. Undoubtedly, you can buy for domestic use.

Used broken and non working item received.Immediately asked for return and replacement. Never expected this from Amazon.

My second year of use: Machine is running without any issue. Only trim line am changing. Very useful. I use only during raining season, Jun to September to clean the garden and near compund. ------------------------------------------ REview after month of usage: Pro: 1) Small plants and grass cuts well 2) Weight is OK, easily lifted and movable. 3) Cuts well with 1.6mm string. cant use with 3mm string. 4) Currently am using without the guard, due to the size of the nylon trimmer line I need more, to cover bigger diameter area when rotating. this makes the grass pieces hits my leg and irritates. 5) Am using 2mm trimmer line, as the 1.6mm suggested is very delicate. Cons: 3) Lot of smokes coming from motor 4) Complete set made of plastic, atleast head where grass cutting point could have been metal, this makes like cheap 2nd grade chinese product. 5) Not usables for long hours run. Only for small area. Thickly grown vine type grass cuts with difficulty. 6) You need to purchase extra least 15-20m wire extension to move around garden. they could have offered with this machine (with additional price). 7) No blade supported only nylon to be used. And nylon string is very delicate provided 8) Angle of the cutter is not suitable to cut at ground level, it keeps 3-5cm height of weed plants stem. 9) Diameter of the cutting string is small, hence need lot of time to cover even 10X10ft area. 10) It has fixed trimmer head. If there is a movement, then it would be a good trimmer to cut the grass at grould level, with current set up, you need to move remove the protection guard and turn the whole machine to according to your requirement is tedious job. 11) Make the protection guard wider, by 5-6 inch bigger. There is a blade in guard, which desides the length of the expternally projected nylon trimmer line, if you keep longer than guard size, it will cut to small to the existing guard size. but this size cover less area and cant reach ground level

I didn't even know if there was such a product. In any case, I got it when I went to Amazon. It is not difficult to assemble. Anyone can do it. You need an extension cord to take the power from home. After connecting it, you can start mowing the grass. Beginners don't have to go as far as the grass when holding it, because the cutting wires of this tool should be held slightly forward. If you hold it parallel, it will not cut properly. Anything the size of a pencil will be cut. A cutting wire is fixed as a roll inside the cutting part. If you see that the length of the wire has decreased after tightening it, press the button in the middle and hold the wire and pull it, a certain amount of wire will come out. This device has good power, but it is not a toy. Women can also use it to cut grass. Men can even do it with one hand. 20/11/2013 Saw the old review when I went to order a second one for a friend of mine. Even my 13 year old son has been mowing with it. It would have been a little easier if there was a belt or something to hang it around the neck. The string mower will have to be sourced from Amazon. A friend put a blue string on it, no idea where it came from. That means we can get a suitable string in our shops but we have to search. I couldn't find it and finally bought it from Amazon. It takes some practice to mow with it, and once you get the hang of it, you won't be able to mow very well at first. It is very easy once you master the angle etc. The most difficult task is fixing this string. That is, the string on both sides should come out when the button in the middle is pressed and pulled. If you wind it like a normal winder, one side will come out and the other side will go in. It should be learned.

This shrub shredder uses thin plastic tubes instead of blades to slice through heavy jungle. Good product. However, the cap(from which the wires pop out) costing 32 rupees wears out after a single day of 1 to 2 hours of dedicated shrub cutting. You need to buy 30 to 40 caps (from which the wires pop out) and keep them to ensure that your work does not stop.

Review after using 3~4 times Each time we use for few hours, either its end rotating cap or something else will break. Finally after using once in a month for 3 months, the machine stopped. Its Armeature and Capacitor damaged. Not it is absolutely useless The machine is out of production, spare parts difficult to get and finally i have to throw it away BIG NO TO BUY THIS MACHINE. Shame on black and dekker to make such a machine Review in first week In first use itself, the bottom cap damaged. Now no way that this can be used without replacement. Amazon does not have the accessory and now need to take it to a service centre and they have to get the spare part from somewhere. Spare parts too expensive and needs 15 days.
