Some repeat designs in the book. Not a big deal tho. Lost of cool designs for inspiration. Good sizes for tracing or whatever.

This book contains an astonishing number of authentic traditional tattoo designs. If you are a traditional tattooer, a tattoo historian, or a folk art enthusiast, this book is worth its weight in gold. Each page is thoughtfully laid out and the designs are boldly and skillfully outlined in black, unlike in "Sailor Jerry's Tattoo Stencils," where the designs are direct photocopies of original acetate stencils. The subject matter is understandably limited here- just about every design can be classified as a ship, an anchor, a woman, a flag, a dragon, a snake, or a rose; but within those subjects there is incredible variety and artistry. The paper quality could be better- the pages are a bit like children's construction paper, but this is more than compensated for by the book's size, and the sheer quality and quantity of the artwork it contains.

Fantastic collection of American Traditional stencils. Fine art paper and sturdy clamshell case. Interesting counterpoint with regard to the evolution of many common designs. A welcomed addition to my collection.

Lots of bang for your buck. Slap full of great classic American tattoo designs

I chose this rating because this book is awesome. It comes with a hard box-type cover to go around it to avoid damage to the actual front and back of the book. It shipped faster than I could believe, it was here within a couple days after ordering. Anyone who appreciates traditional tattoos will love this book.

A must for tattoo reference. Huge. Hundreds of pictures. Only complaint is the paper of the books is really cheap and delicate (almost like newsprint) will damage the page if you trace with tracing paper.

One of the best books I’ve ever purchased. The paper used is a bit delicate, almost like construction paper texture wise though to me it makes the book feel vintage, the pages look like they’re straight off a wall in the early 1900s. If you like traditional tattoos, are an aspiring tattoo artist, tattoo artist or tattoo collector this book is definitely worth the price! Perfect for reference, a coffee table book or for in the shop.It also comes in a heavy duty protective sleeve which I found very helpful considering the pages can easily be ripped.
