My bible for gas station negotiation
This author is very knowledgeable without question. I feel like he touches on a little about EVERYTHING related to owning a gas station. Unfortunately it leaves you wishing he would go more in-depth and it leaves you more questions than answers.Overall I do recommend as well as the authors pod cast and website of which you will learn about in the book. Owning a gas station is very niche so there are not a lot of books to compare this to. I used it as my bible when I negotiated my first gas station deal.

How to Start, Run and Grow a Successful Gas Station Business by Shabbir Hossain addresses so thoroughly all aspects of owning this kind of business. The book is set up with a thorough table of contents beautifully organized and there is both an introduction and warm thoughts to send you off reading. The author gives you both background material (about how to keep yourself healthy through the stresses of taking on a new business) to detailed and updated statistics to mindful and psychological support tips, especially if you have a family (kids, other dependents such as a wife/husband/partner and extended family). He details how to have a personal plan with goals for the overall picture, which you learn from buying or leasing a property. Then he moves to the particulars and offers a detailed list of what should be in your business plan when approaching investors. He encourages you how to embrace the path of possible small failures that won’t damage the overall business but ones you can simply learn from and use to deepen your understanding of how to own and profit from this particular business. He hands you two paths, one not better than the other, owning or leasing, and guides the reader to how to hang tight through the long or short haul, and especially the beginning of this venture you will be excited about when reading about his obvious success. There’s even a detailed plan and thoroughly explained, the actual lowdown in terms of money, even post-purchase points. And these are just some of the topics, all which make you feel renewed and that this venture is so possible for you. Finally, he sends you off with ways to stimulate your learning with even more through his podcasts and websites that address this very topic. In other words this author is thoroughly updated and continues to learn about the business and offers that to you. Finally, this is a second edition so it’s already been updated so that you will be confident and excited about the growth expressed here and with his podcasts and websites whose addresses are embedded in the book but only to continue to excite you beyond the stimulating book and continue to be “fueled.”

Sloppy
This book contains an absolutely absurd amount of typos. I’m not generally a very nit-picky person, but I really question the credibility of the author in that he couldn’t have hired even a high school student to proofread his work. Besides the typos the book in general seems very “thrown together” as if the author was trying to write it with a fast approaching deadline. The row listing years in a chart that was copied is representative of the quality and care devoted to this book.
