USA Folding Jewelers Loupe Pocket Magnifier (10X 20X Double Jewelers Loupe)

A huge folding magnifier that is over 6" long when opened and the cover/handle is about 36mm or 1.38" thick. Closed it is 3.66" by 2.37" by 1.38". Too large IMO for convenient pocket carry. Clear aperture is about 46mm. Definitely NOT 10 power when compared to a Belomo 10X Hastings Triplet loupe but not as exaggerated power as many Chinese made magnifier claims.. Much closer magnification to the Carson LumiLoupe 5X Lighted Magnifier. Both are two air spaced element magnifiers that do a nice job of magnifying and provide large enough lenses for a wide view and decent magnification with minimal distortion. Too low a power for work like proper gem appraisal which per industry standards requires a true 10X loupe.

After having had some very nice (expensive) Hasting Triplets in the past, I was very skeptical about purchasing this for my very picky son who wanted a good magnifier for his numismatics hobby. He had tried several other magnifiers and rejected them. I didn't want to spend much money on something that he wouldn't like so we tried this magnifier, 10x21 Hasting Triplet.The optical quality is actually quite good and the frame seems to be solid. I didn't see any chromatic aberrations and the glass was very clear. We will see how it holds up under everyday use, but overall it seems to be a great magnifier.

I use this device to measure the quality of printouts. I can use this to examine how accurately the three colors are printed. It's cheap and it works

This was a great deal for something that is exactly as described. I use this to examine my houseplants for pests. The different levels of magnification are very useful. I also like the small size because you can get as close as you need without the lens getting in the way of the plant like larger magnifiers do.

It seems to be a real triplet magnifier, at a much lower price than the name brands. Achromatic, good field of view for 10x, good clarity. If I needed another one, I would get it in an instant.

It's a good one for the money. There are a lot of junky ones out their but not this one at the time of this writing for this exact model from this exact seller.

Works OK, but very small in size. I did not check dimensions before I purchased. It looks a lot bigger than what it is on the picture.
