I took a bare carbon steel gun part, slathered it in a thin film of this grease, made sure every millimeter was covered and gently set it down.................. into a 30% bleach solution overnight! Trollolololol The part survived without a speck of pitting! Yay! Good luck getting this grease off, though, because the only shiaht that can hurt PTFE, in short order, would destroy a polished steel surface, in seconds. Don't bother with a dry rag, unless you plan to dispose of it, because the grease will NEVER completely come off of that rag. I rinsed off as much as I could, in boiling soapy water, but I could still feel the steel was a touch slick. So I used a poor rag and scrubbed it to death! Lol This is THE stuff to lube -40°F to +400°F moving parts, if salt and other corrosive contact is imminent.

I have used this for many years on a boat. Coating everything from screws to impellers and head pump parts. Finally needed to get another. Amazon is great for having almost everything one needs.
