Q: Is a tool needed to disengage the socket on the detent pin anvil

The first couple dozen times you change sockets, you might want to use a pliers to grip the socket by its open end ( i'm 71 and my finger grip strength is not what it used to be) but after a while the retainer will get broken in and will release its hold on the socket easier. I love the tool.

Q: Will this press out ball joints?

This is not an impact chisel it is a rotary impact wrench. To separate ball joints you need a ball joint press or a wedge type separator. As far as the nut on the ball joint stud goes, this will spin off anything I have encountered on cars and light trucks.

Q: What's the difference in this and the 891?

The 891 uses the hog ring anvil while the 892 uses detent pin. Other than that they’re exactly the same.

Q: Does it work car tight nuts ?

The wrench has 450 ft-lbs of max breakaway torque. Generally, the high end of breakaway for torque needed is around 125 ft-lbs
