Great starter incubator!
Great incubator for a small farm! This is the first incubator I have ever used, and I managed an 83% hatch rate on my chicken eggs (which I hear is really good!). 20/24 eggs successfully hatched; the other 4 were not viable at the 10 day mark, so these may have been a fertility/egg viability issue. I followed the instructions that came with the incubator and it worked perfectly. It monitors ambient air temperature of the room, which helps to make sure it functions optimally. I had to move it to a climate controlled space, and kept the air temperature around 67°F. There is no humidity gauge, but the incubator instructions tell you how to maintain a good humidity level. The water input spout is small but easy to judge if more water is needed, which I was able to keep in check by adding water 2x a day. Zero smell until hatching began, then it was only right over the machine. Cleaning is no mean feat- hatching is dirty business! the bottom tray was easy, but the cover had to be partially disassembled to properly clean, which should probably be done after each hatch. The manual covers cleaning the machine as well, so I had no problems figuring it all out.

Reliable Incubator
I had great luck with both of the 2 of these that I purchased. Temp was a bit off so I had to monitor that with a secondary thermometer, but it holds temp and humidity very well. I wish all of them would automatically come with the screen that shows humidity, but that wasn't a huge issue, I just didn't realize it was the model without the humidity reading. I had a 100% hatch rate in my incubator with shipped eggs even. I would def. encourage people to purchase the Brinsea incubators. I have owned several other brands and the Brinsea is by far the most reliable. The clear dome is also great for the classroom and my students loved getting to watch the chicks hatch. This incubator is also much easier to clean than my previous incubators.

Excellent quality incubator - almost too easy to use
I purchased this along with the insert for small eggs to hatch quail. This allows me to hatch 40 quail at a time. Using this, I am getting excellent hatch rates in a nearly hands-off system. I literally load the eggs, set the hatch day, stay mindful of the water level, and swap out the insert for the cardboard hatching mat about 2 days before hatch and that's it. It couldn't be much easier. There are less expensive options, but I'm absolutely sold on the simplicity and the quality.

motor stops in less than a year
This is the second brinsea I have purchased .The 7 egg incubator was good until the motor stopped working and brinsea will not cover the motor because it wasn't registered and just slightly over 1 yr old. This incubator is crap too. Ordered June 2025 and only used a few times. Put away for winter, and recently took it out again to start eggs. Now this motor will not turn the eggs! Don't waste your money on this expensive crap. Your better off buying 5 cheap ones and they'd probably out live the brinsea.

Don't hatch large poultry
The incubator works great for chickens and small ducks. I would NOT recommend hatching large ducks or geese. I incubated 5 American Buff eggs and they were too big for the motor and the incubator is NOT tall enough to hatch geese. The geese can't stand once hatched.

Great!
22 out of 24 eggs hatched first batch! I'd say that's great! Very easy to use and I will add I lost power a few hours a few different days and the hatch rate was still great! As long as you make sure there's water in the reservoir it's pretty much set it and forget it! Also when you get it make sure you sign up for your 3 year warranty! You only have 30 days from purchase to register it! Happy hatching!

100% success rate, healthy chicks all (Brinsea Maxi 24 Advance)
This was my first time incubating; last month a pack of foxes killed our flock of 12 - it was heart wrenching. There happened to be 16 eggs sitting on the kitchen counter, and with a blessing and a prayer it was decided that we’d attempt to hatch those eggs - a reincarnation of our chicken friends. I wanted a reliable product that did the hard work of successfully hatching healthy chicks. There may be cheaper ones, but I will never buy another incubator- Brinsea Maxi 24 Advance is the one I will use again and again. We had so much anxiety over our lost chicken friends that we actually created an excel graph and measured the weight of their eggs every week to see if the eggs where viable and growing - and this machine is SO efficient that our eggs hit the target numbers all through the 21 days. The first was born the 20th day, all the others on the 21rst. 100% success strong healthy chicks.

Foggy screen
It worked well until the display that shows the temperature fogged up. Definitely give it another go next season. I got 17 out of 24.

Biosecurity Hazard
This item breached Australian import conditions and was investigated. It was found to be used. and has been allocated a case. An Australian Post-biosecurity Response (PBR) officer attended our site and confirmed that the incubator was used and clearly had feather material around the small circulating fan blades. The goods are currently secured at our site pending further information.
