No, I wouldn’t say they are sour. More sweet hard outer shell with somewhat tart pressed powdery middle. You need to suck on them for a least a couple minutes before biting into, and when you do you get prefect mix of sweet, tart crunchy & disvoling delishisness!!

According to this page (https://www.verywellfit.com/gluten-free-candy-list-562806) they do not use gluten ingredients, so I suppose they would be gluten free but they definitely didn't print it on the boxes that I ordered.
