ecently bought this HDMI Audio Extractor for my home theater setup, and it’s been a solid addition to my media system. I needed a device to separate audio from my HDMI signal so I could send it to my soundbar via optical or 3.5mm audio without sacrificing video quality. This device does the job really well. It's a lot smaller than I thought and seems very well made. I love the flexibility of having multiple audio output options. The optical output works seamlessly with my soundbar, and I can use the 3.5mm jack for more traditional speaker setups. I also like that it supports both digital (Dolby, DTS-HD, etc.) and analog audio, which gives me more versatility. Setup is extremely straightforward. No need for complicated drivers or software just plug it in. Considering the functionality, the price is a great value. It's not the most expensive option on the market, but it delivers the essentials with decent performance. I have other items made by the same company and never had any issues and also found there customer service A+. Highly recommend this item.

I bought this HDMI audio extractor to use with my Xbox and Fire Stick and I am impressed. At first I only got stereo but once I connected the optical Toslink output to my surround sound system and changed the audio settings on my devices to Dolby Digital it worked exactly as advertised with full 5.1 surround sound. The HDMI passthrough keeps the video sharp with 4K supported without issue and the optical audio output passes Dolby Digital and DTS properly. The red and white RCA and the 3.5mm outputs are stereo only so if you want true surround you need to use the optical output into a receiver or surround system that can decode it. For the price this little box is excellent. Easy to set up, solid build and does the job. If you want a simple way to split HDMI while still getting proper surround sound I highly recommend it.

Wanted to get audio output from the FireCube to my old Naim stereo amplifier. This little unit is a perfect solution and I now have any output to my old Sony TV (no audio outputs either bar SCART) from the FireCube. Don't forget to order a MicroUSB power adapter to run the HDMI audio extracter as it doesn;t come with one. Perfect!!!!

It just doesn’t work. I needed it because my av amp can’t take the sound direct from the hdmi of my new firestick. I have the fire stick HDMI into it and the picture works fine. I have an optical cable running the audio into the amp but no sound comes out from the amp. I’ve tried every combination, even swapped leads but nothing.

Does the trick no problem. Connected apple TV to a PC monitor and a sound bar. Easy and no messing about

I don't often post reviews however I needed something to supply a digital [optical] sound signal as my surround sound system is old and not ARC rated. Arrived as described. Impressive finish quality. Came with a power cord you plug in to the TV 5v USB outlet so it self powers when the tv is on removing the need for yet another mains plug/socket. Came with an HDMI cable [not sure what rating but assumed its suitable for 4K/HD] Simply plug the HDMI cable into the unit from the Freely box and another from the unit into a TV HDMI input. Plug an optical cable from the extractor into the surround sound, set the unit to output 5.1 surround sound, turn on the TV and Freely box and get a great picture and great surround sound with no speech lag. If you want two speaker channels or 5.1 surround sound you simply slide a switch and it will also pass through. NB: if you don't have optical it does also offer RCA connectivity but that will only output stereo. Very impressed with the ease of set up and the sound quality is definitely better than the SkyQ unit we had and have now returned as we don't use Sky any more. It has a two year replacement warranty which I suggest shows confidence by the manufacturer of durability. I am a genuine purchaser offering genuine feedback.

Used with a Sky puck to extract the audio to a soundbar with the digital optical output and the HDMI to a projector. Works for my usage. Seems well made, been using for a month now and no issues so far.
