This is a superb invention and a needed product. Well-made. Unfortunately, it was not a good fit for my 7' X 4' triple sliders. When closed, only 1 5/8" of the window frame is exposed. The mounting screws would have hit the double glass if I drilled the holes. That was disappointing because these locks really are GOOD! Note to the manufacturer: Please consider a change to your instruction sheet to something that can be read by people over 40! Even with a magnifying glass, I could not make out those tiny installation pictures you showed. Same for your website.

I have two sliders that are the kind where the door slides on the outside track (yeah most stupid door design I can think of as far as home security goes). Did a fair amount of research on what home security companies recommend to secure sliders, and landed on this lock. Easy to install with just a drill and screwdriver - took me 15 minutes for both. Also installed a 1/4" by 1.5" board in the upper track of each door so that there is nowhere for the door to go if a burglar tries the old crowbar-under-the-door-to-lift-it trick.

It took some work to install these with my setup. This was due to one of my doors sagging in one corner. However, I belive most wouldn't have an issue. My second door was a smooth install. Measure twice, drill once. This unit does make the door much mores secure. I've had multiple friends see these, and ask what it was. Afterwards, they bought then themselves. Much easier to use than the dowel in the tray option. My one issue is that the key lock option is utter garbage. However, it's not a deal breaker, as I have no need for it. The wife feels safe, and that's what I was after.

I had a different brand before this one and I like both just as well. I had to get an extended latch from the company to make this work because my door jam was deeper than most.

A little modifications to the slider channel to make a smooth fit. This was not plug and play. With that said, I like it. Seems more secure than the slider lock and it looks well made and like it will last. I would recommend as a security feature and it is pretty inexpensive.

Over time the top pin gets loose and has the potential for falling into the lock and preventing the door from opening. This is a huge safety risk because the lock basically needs to be disassembled to be removed from the door or the pin MacGyver’ed op and out of the lock. If there was a fire the occupant would definitely be trapped. To fix the issue I’ve epoxied the pins to the latches to prevent them from coming loose. I will watch this over time after this fix to see if the pins come loose again. So far from 2018 it’s happened twice. Edit July 16, 2023: issue has not occurred since I epoxied the pins.

I had a sticky lock that took an adult male to close most of the time. So swapped it out with this eventually and it makes getting in and out a breeze. Plus we installed a pet access door with a panel next to the sliding door so the original lock became useless anyway and this was what we used instead.

The sense of security you get when these are installed is unbelievable.Deadbolt lock on sliding patio doors is awesome.Just minutes to install,this is my third and forth set.Also two of my friends just bought also after seeing mine.

Excellent Product, works well, made well. Way better than putting an ugly bar in your sliding door for security. Easy to use for everyday. How does it work against a burglar?....I hope I never find out but my quess it that it works the same or better than most similar sliding door security and it would make it much harder to lift the door off the track.
