Bad start but holds my attention after Chapter 1
The introduction to this book is typical of Clinton Heylin a writer who loves only himself. After dumping most of the other Bob Dylan author's I was ready to quit. However, once past his inferiority/superiority complex, the book holds my attention for the real story of Bob Dylan beyond the myths Dylan has created. I look forward to reading another chapter each day.

A Compelling Read for Fans -enormously detailed, fills in all the gaps, in Dylan's early career
At first I found all the detail a bit boring, but then absolutely fascinating.Dylan fans will know the basic details of his life and career, but this puts flesh upon the bones of his early life and relationships, as well as fascinating musical and recording detail.Clinton Heylin arouses strong opinions in some readers, and he is , himself, quite opinionated, and one may not always agree with his opinions, but there is no doubt the depth of his research in Dylan's archives here, and the wealth of new information uncovered. After a slow start, I found this a really compelling read, and can't wait to read the next volume.
