Can you put this together but leave the back open? I want to put a small TV on top and have the wires contact to a box in the unit. Thanks!

I don't think so. The back holds the two sides and top up. So I would put it all together as instructed. Its very sturdy with all parts used.

Does thr hollow carved cabinet ship without the gold frame base attached? Or is it easily removed? I want to just it without it

It looks like base detaches, however I don’t know for sure, because I have a similar cabinet that has a different base.
