I like the great outdoors and hunting.

Seems like it's been years and years since they have developed a decent hunting game from the great hunting games of the late 90s early 2000s that were for PC and PS2. The description of this game makes it sound extremely promising and from the few photos online it seemed decent enough so I decided to order it as I haven't played a hunting game on PlayStation for a great while.Even though this game is run by unreal engine the graphics are so-so they're literally ok that's all. I've seen games with worse but definitely seen with way better. The movement of the character is very stiff and robotic very similarly to the cabela Big game Hunter for PC that came out in 98 or 99 I think.As far as the campaign there is no storyline unlike previous games that usually revolve around a story or competition between other hunters this is literally just a go to the hunting ground, kill the animal, come back there is not really any reward other than unlocking different equipment that you really don't even need. This is a bit disappointing because it makes the game feel a bit emptyThe controls are about as basic as you can get and for a small child or person that is not really into video games this would work perfect because it's pretty much just point and shoot. The animals themselves are just okay but still very unrealistic looking they do move well enough but could definitely be better and more detailed.For those that just want some nostalgia of playing those old hunting games this is very much like the old games movement and gameplay are almost exact. I will say this, if you are a serious gamer or someone that expects a lot from a game this game will definitely not be for you. If you are a beginner or someone that just likes to dabble in video games you will probably get some enjoyment out of this one.I gave it three stars because it's not absolutely terrible but it's not absolutely great either it's just in the middle at about ok. I definitely would not pay more than $15 for it

This was a Christmas Present for my nephew. I had the fun of playing "with" him (watching him and coaching) for several hours over several days. He was definitely into the game, and excited about it. He is NOT a hunter nor from a hunting family, but does like wild animals. He quickly went from shooting at everything from any distance to identifying specific targets, passing on game that wasn't appropriate, and real stalking to get closer for a good shot.This game doesn't provide a perfect simulation of the hunting experience. There is always a lot of huggable animals around, and seldom does more then a minute or two go by before you can put another stalk on something. But, it does have a lot of fun features and teaches some things about hunting. Ideally should be combined with a parent or hunting mentor who can explain where and how the game disconnects from real hunting. Eg, licenses and tags, etc.
