An excellent introduction! Pathbreaking in its emphasis upon Weber's comparative methodology and Weber's big picture theme: the uniqueness and rise of the West. The criticism above by James is completely off-base. This is an introduction designed for undergraduates and people who haven't read Weber or tried and gave up (he is well known as difficult). The author follows the usual format for introductory books: a chapter overview is offered at the beginning of each chapter and a summary is offered at the end.
