Good, solid frame for the money.
After perusing many reviews for a queen platform, I decided to go with the Zinus 14' metal platform bed. The assembly was simple and took about 45 minutes at a leisurely pace. The instructions show pictures; there is no written explanation. I did not find this to be a problem. You begin with the 4 corner pieces, bolting them to each side rail, and then to the front and rear. After that, you bolt the center legs to the 2 sides. Then you attach the legs to the center beam, then bolt the beam to the front and back. The last step is to pop in the metal crossbeams. I had to start each end into its slot by going back and forth evenly. This might be accomplished more easily with 2 people. In the end, they pooped in with no problem. The package provides one extra each of the 2 kinds of allen-wrench screws. There were two wrenches included, one for each size. A few of the holes didn't line up exactly, so that the screws had to be started at a slight angle, but they soon straightened out just fine.An earlier reviewer complained that the mattress slid around, because there's no lip around the edges to hold it in place. Apparently someone at the company was listening. Four of the cross-slats had peel off strips revealing adhesive. These I distributed evenly. So far, there's no slippage. When the adhesive wears out, I'll just get some 2-sided tape and cut it into strips. The combined weight of my partner and me is 360 lbs. The bed is even and solid with no squeaks and is fine with boisterous activity, although the unit did scoot across the floor a bit. The legs on mine are smooth on the bottom and do not seem to scratch my hardwood floors, though I will probably put something under them anyway. The unit is easy to slide for cleaning underneath. All in all, a good deal. Who needs box springs? My mattress sleeps just fine without them. A final note: I would say my mattress feels slightly firmer on this platform than it did on the box springs. Also, watch out for major toe-stubbing if you're not used to legs on the side of your bed!

Sturdy frame, tons of support, clear assembly instructions.
Before buying a new bed-in-the-box style mattress, I wanted to see if a better bed frame might give my sagging mattress more support - and it did. My economical bare-bones metal bed frame was not supporting my mattress in the middle, and what a difference this metal platform bed frame has made. I have a box spring on top of this frame, which I think is totally unnecessary. I live in a small space and don't have room to "store" the box spring before tossing it, so I'm going with the Princess and the Pea style sleeping arrangement for a while. There is a simple non-skid system of double sided foam tape that keeps your mattress or box spring from sliding around the metal platform. Smart solution.Instructions are clear, and assembly is easy. I came across a hiccup when I was attempting to put the last two screws in the frame. I think my polished concrete floors are uneven, which created sort of a rhombus instead of 90 degree corners, making it difficult to get screws to align with holes. I knew exactly what the problem was, it just took me a minute to find a solution that worked for my situation. Once the frame is together it takes no time at all to snap in the supports. I like the look of this frame and the storage space. I did add felt pads to the underside of the legs. Although they are made of smooth metal, I am quite sure they'd scratch my floor's finish. Hard against hard. The felt pad are sticky on one side, and cut-to-fit. Easy Home Depot solution.

Great storage, sturdy, mattress stays in place
Complicated to assemble, but sturdy, keeps mattress in place, and provides plenty of storage space. This bed frame was exactly what I expected. I managed to put it together myself in a couple hours - propping the parts on boxes worked in lieu of the recommended second person. I have 4 milk crates, misc bins, a few suitcases, and a shoe tray under this bed - perfect for small spaces. The sticky slats make changing the sheets a little complicated, but no mattress slipping like reviews on other frames mentioned. The inset mid legs have prevented toe-stubbing, another issue I saw in reviews of other frames.

Impressive quality for the price! *updated review at bottom*
Bought this to replace an old busted and creaky wooden box spring. What a difference. Most impressed with the quality all around. Assembly was a joke and well thought out from the little nubs that hold the braces in place so a single person can screw the parts together, to the rubber strip that keeps the support slats from rubbing against bare metal. 4 of the slats on mine came with pre-applied non-slip tape. I was surprised that when all was said and done the mattress didn't budge. That was something I was worried about and bought some rubber stoppers to put between the mattress and frame just in case. Wasn't needed. All in all great foundation that you can see and feel the quality of. No point in paying double the price for the exact same foundation on here with the lips to keep the mattress from sliding around, the non-slip tape this comes with is more than adequate.**30 day Update**So far I still like this foundation, however it has 2 glaring issues I've had to fix. In the 30 days Ive had it, Ive had to re-tighten all the support bolts THREE times as the screws constantly back out and cause the frame to wobble on the last re-tighten I noticed the middle support rails that goes down the middle has completely separated from the main outer rail.... Also, the ribs (small supports rails the stretch across the middle) squeak after a few days.I went back and disassembled the entire foundation and re-assembled it using medium strength thread locker on all the bolts to keep them from backing out. Also with the ribs (and all other points of metal to metal contacts), I placed a thin layer of Vaseline to lubricate the joints and where the ribs slot into the frame. Since then not a single squeak and none of the bolts have loosened. So I highly recommend that if you buy this frame, pick up or order some medium strength thread locker and a small jar of vaseline or other thick lubricants at the same time.

Well made, easy assembly
The bed frame went together pretty well. Everything in the package was labeled and well organized. Instruction diagrams were easy to follow, and the little ratchet wrench included was quite handy. The frame is sturdy, quiet, no creaks or other noises with my 200lb frame. I attached my existing headboard using the slots provided and put my mattress on.Negatives; two of the corner threaded holes were trouble to get the screws in, and I didn't like the adhesive anti-slip mattress strips, making them from a soft Silicone rubber would be better. I'm quite happy with my purchase otherwise.

Well made, good welds, no squeaking
I've slept on this platform for a month now and it's been good. I like the storage space underneath. My only problem so far has been that the 6 inch spacing on the slats caused my 'bed in a box' mattress to sink a bit, especially near my mid section. I bought a sheet of hardie board to go underneath to spread out the weight, and it’s been perfect. The double sided tape keeps the board in place well. The welds are good, the paint is nice. The inset feet in the mid sections is really nice. Had one bolt strip because I forgot to use the washer but luckily I had one the right size that was longer so I could get it to grip.

Sturdy and provides lots of space underneath
ZINUS Luis 14 Inch QuickLock Metal Platform Bed Frame: Queen size. Delivery was super slow (compared to other Amazon shipping), but when it arrived, I found it pretty straight forward to put together by myself (60 year old). TIPS: On the instructions, pay attention to the numbers versus the letters. Also, when starting out, just slightly put in screws for each corner; this helps to stabilize the frame. Then go around and tighten all of the corners. Other than that, if you use a thick queen mattress, the bed will seem high. And, last but not least, they include a handy little ratchet (along with an Allan key).
