Well, it's expensive, but you knew that. And it needs to be placed on a mortar pad so there's that. And the 'center' drain is not actually centered, it is 18" from the left rear side and 16" from the right rear so my existing centered drainpipe from the old shower is going to have to be moved. It would be nice if they would post drawings so you might know that in advance. The drain itself is molded in as part of the unit, so if you are dropping it onto an existing drain without access from the bottom, you have to put glue on the drain stub after the wet mortar is down, and then you have to try to spear that stub as you are setting the base down on top of the mortar, and get it pushed down onto the mortar pad before the glue sets up. You get one shot at that and if you blow it you are toast. I am thinking I will cut a hole in the downstairs ceiling so I have access to glue in the drainpipe after the base is set on the mortar. On the whole, not nearly as easy or convenient as I had hoped for the money I spent. Seems like it's cheaper and not much more trouble (if any) to go old-school and put in a mortar pan.

Here are the problems to list1. Double curb is made after order is placed. They take single curb, cut one side wall and put new piece to make the curb. So count 3-4 more days for that.2. The drain is not truly centered. It is 18 inch from one side and 16 from another. So you might need to change your drain3. Mine came chipped off on one side of the wall.4. Epoxy material is very custom and nothing else works. In my case, it was barely enough to cover the floor. After that for curbs and walls, I had to order it again. And by the time you realize it, it will be end of your project, so add 5 days more for them to ship it. And they can't ship any way other than UPS ground.5. Very pricy for the piece of plastic which has all its weird characteristics.So bottom line is Don't Buy..

The drain assembly is lacking. I don’t understand why there are two screws holding the basic plate in place. It looks cheap and home made. Not what I expected at all. This item is a huge disappointment. My suggestion is to build your own base.
