What can I say? A MUST have for a Beatles fan!
I did this as a Christmas present for my brother who's an AVID Beatles fan. And this set was a definate MUST HAVE. I may not be as avid a fan as he is, but I felt the documentary really showed me the lasrecordings of the KINGS of MUSIC. I was very impressed and hope he was as well.

As a lifelong Beatles fan, this was a must have.
I have an old VHS copy of "Let It Be" which has never been available on DVD or Blu-Ray, but this is so much better. "Let It Be" left you feeling that the Beatles really didn't like each other at the end, "Get Back" proves that not to be true. It is long, but Peter Jackson did a wonderful job with the editing. There are troubles along the way, but at the end you know that the four guys were always friends. Watching this leaves me in tears but laughing at the same time, especially when Paul wants one more take of "Let It Be" and John says "But you've got so many of the bastard." Hysterical!

Great if you are a hardcore Beatle fan, but not if you expect a concert with complete songs
Overall, the documentary was pretty good. It showed how the Beatles created their songs through an iterative process of trying different ways of singing these songs. It also showed the typical banter between the members. It also showed the songs that went on the Let it be album, and also the ones that didn't make it. I didn't know that some of the Abbey Road songs were around during the Get Back sessions, such as Something, and Oh Darling. However, the documentary decided to leave off certain songs that I understand was done during this time, such as "All things must pass," which was not even discussed in the documentary.I saw the original movie, "Let it be," before watching this documentary. The major differences between that movie and this documentary were that they showed more of their interactions in the studio in the documentary. The documentary addressed George Harrison temporarily quitting the band, which the "Let it Be" movie didn't address. However, in the documentary, you don't see certain songs in their entirety until the "Rooftop" session. At least in "Let it Be" movie, you heard more songs that were complete before the "Rooftop" sessions. For example, in "Let it Be," they showed a complete rendition of the songs "Two of Us," "Let it Be," and "Long and Winding Road." In the documentary, these songs were presented in iterative fragments. In addition, Yoko Ono's participation was left out in the "Let it Be" movie, while in the documentary, Yoko actually howled during the recording sessions, with John, Paul and Ringo participating. It was also funny because Heather McCartney (Paul's adopted stepdaughter) was also howling along with Yoko.I would say this documentary was enjoyable if you are a hardcore Beatle fan. This documentary filled in the blanks that were left out of the "Let it Be" movie, in terms of the interaction between the Beatles. If you are expecting a complete concert with all the songs in their entirety, you would be disappointed.

It's Sad, But You Can See The End From Here
What an amazing contribution to the Beatles legacy Peter Jackson created. Watching them in the studio(s) where they created the bulk of what eventually became the "Get Back" sessions, leading to the release of the "Let It Be" album was fun, but even then you could see cracks starting to form. It was strange knowing that when I watched the rooftop performances, even with the smiles and knowing glances, that the end was in sight. This was also a great "you're in the studio" look at how they wrote and how they figured out songs that are still mainstays on music services around the world to this day. And having the 'complete' rooftop concert is something I have sought for years and years and to finally have it in hand is a blessing to any Beatles fan.I can't imagine any fan of the Beatles being disappointed with this purchase. It's a five star purchase all the way.

Obra-prima
Uma experiência única poder rever a maior banda da história trabalhar em cima composições que se tornariam classicos eternos. O encerramento com a apresentação no telhado é um marco da música popular.

Excellent Documentary of the making of an Album!
I am a long time Beatles Fan! When I first got into music the Beatles had just broken up. Have most of their LPS and CDs as a Band and Solo. Saw "Let it Be" in the theatres way back when it first came out. Unfortunately to this day that film seemed to have a "Negative" Vibe to it and a general unhappiness. First with the Get Back DVDs KUDOS to Peter Jackson and his team for upgrading the quality of the original 16MM footage. They did a remarkable job! The quality of the treated 16MM footage is absolutely unbelievable!! I know as again I saw the theatrical release and it looked like 16MM does, just not bloody great compared todays Hi DEF standards. Secondly albeit the documentary is very long it shows the amazing process of this GREAT Band honing and refining their new songs resulting in the famous rooftop concert and what would result in the Let in Be LP. I was pleasantly surprised that the overall vibe of the process was good and a happy one as these remarkable artists produced a series of wonderful new music before our eyes and all the time having cameras around them and filming the entire process. Not sure how any Artist is able to do that. So all in all I am extremely happy with the Get Back DVDS!!
