Clink

My 15-month-old son will barely sit still for "Pat the Bunny," but anytime I hold up this storybook, he opens the front cover and sits, rapt, through the entire tale. For him, I think the appeal is the illustrations - painterly, rich, incredibly emotive. (I learned all those words in Art History class. Also "universality.") I've been working on helping my son recognize emotions, and in this book I can show him so much more than the standard, cartoonish "happy" or "sad" faces you usually see in children's books. Hopeful, confused, shocked, excited, touched... each of these expressions appears and is distinctly itself, not just happy, not just sad. "Clink" is going to be making the rounds among my family and friends this Christmas, because of its aesthetic beauty, its touching and simple story, and yes, its universality.

I love children's literature and I love giving it to those I love! This book is wonderful: good message, well written, beautifully illustrated. Buy it! I bought it with stacking robot blocks from Amazon!

I can't waitcto read this to my grandkids during our robot unit.Homeschooling during Coronavirus needs good books like this.

My 2 1/2 year old loves this book! It's an adorable story and also a pretty quick read (which I appreciate because he asks me to read it about 4 times per night). Get it!

My 5 year old son is obsessed with robots, I got him this book for his birthday. It's a really cute book and he really enjoys it. I would recommend it.

I love this book, as did the 3 year old and 6 year old who read it with me all the time. The drawings are wonderful, there is a lot to talk about besides the main story. The main story is great though. I love when things turn out good for the underdog.

My 6 year old daughter was captivated by the YouTube trailer for this book. It's a really sweet short story with charming illustrations. The hard back copy I bought is a really nice edition.

If your child likes robots you can’t go wrong with this book. Gorgeous illustrations, wonderful flow, and great message.
