It’s functional, nice looking, and just the right size for a small space, like a studio apt kitchen. It would be a little big for a bathroom, but I might buy one for that space also. They supply some trash bags to get you started. That’s worth $5-8 US.

Beware! I purchased 3 of these cans and on all 3 of the compartments that hold the batteries does not stay secure. On all 3 of them the battery holder fell out and I suppose they were lost within the trash bag change. I have tried to contact the company to see if I could order replacements for them. I get nowhere with their automated online service. These cans are way too expensive not to be able to order the replacement part. The cans have worked fine until the compartments fell out. I have only had them for 5 months. If you order this product, please beware and use duct tape to hold the compartments in so you don't lose them. Once they are lost, the cans are useless. There is no phone number for customer service! No one will help you! I will not order again from this company.

The perfect mid-size trash can at 6.6 gallons. Opens and closes with ease, five second auto close. Interior lights are plenty bright. This can is in a high traffic room, but there's only two of us. Holds plenty, but I personally wouldn't choose this size for the kitchen. It's around knee - low thigh height. Sleek rectangular design with a wide mouth. Batteries last quite a while. Place hand directly over sensor, and it opens every time. Only issue is I can't get it to open by tapping my knee against it. (Pretty sure I was shipped a return based on the missing packing materials.) On hardwood it almost tips over trying the knee tap because it's so lightweight. Since I'm not putting food in the trash, don't need hands free. Do think it's a bit pricey. Hopefully, the motor will stand the test of time and I do like the stainless steel with black trim. ELPHECO drawstring bag trial is included, and replacement bags are available. If this can is used to hold kitchen garbage, recommend the Simplehuman brand bags Size F as they're more effective at controlling odor and the price isn't much different.

Too small

The lid stopped working after a year. It opens a tiny bit and then closes down.

I bought this item because I really like the size for an office garbage: not too big, not too small. However, after using it for about a week, the lid is now opening on it's own. I press the button to close it, and it just opens back up. This is problematic for 2 reasons, 1. it defeats the purpose of having a lid (I don't want my ornery dachshund getting into the trash and eating tissues) and 2. it makes the lights stay on, draining the batteries. This is NOT what I was expecting at this price point. I've bought less expensive automatic trash cans that work much better.

Very sturdy and its compact. Love the colour of mine too. Really like the feature of No Touch open and close!

Love this bin. It is just the right size to fit in a small space in our kitchen and automatic lid is great. Lots of space for rubbish despite being small. Using 30l bags which fit well.

Sturdy

Excellent product. Small floor space but big capacity for trash. Automatic opening so useful. No greasy fingermarks. Easy to empty with bags provided.

Such a silly thing, but has really made “throwing away the trash” feel “fun”. Wasn’t sure how long it would last as seen reviews for this “type” of product not being very durable and breaking/not working after a month or two. Bought mine in April and it’s now September, still no issues. Had to change the batteries once after 3 or 4 months as the lid wasn’t quite staying up for the full 5 seconds anymore, but there’s a very good chance either myself or my cohabitant left the “lid open” for a prolonged period which keeps the lights flashing and uses more power continuously. Overall, very happy with this purchase and as ridiculous as it sounds, it’s probably my favourite [item/product] purchase of the year so far, because it’s something I notice every day and has added just a touch of enjoyment to a very mundane/nothing activity.
