Fathered by God: Learning What Your Dad Could Never Teach You – The Perfect Christian Father's Day Gifts for Dad Paperback – April 20, 2009

I am now 73 years old, in the final years (hopefully) of my life. My life would/could have brought more glory to God if this book had been available in my early twenties, by that is water over the falls now. I read "Wild at Heart" in my early thirties, but it did not impact or affect me like this later effort.I plan to read it through again to let it impress on my soul, so I can apply it to my life instead of just an addition to the list of "how to" books I have read over the last 45+ years.

I always love John’s books. This one brought some tears along the way. Love the adventures that John speaks about and they speak to my heart.

Eldredge does it again. A perfect followup to Wild at Heart.

I’ve been recommending this book to all of my friends. Life makes a lot more sense after reading this book. Actually, I listened to the audio twice and realized I needed the hard copy to highlight and make more notes.If you’re a guy, with a past, you would benefit greatly by reading this book.

Wow!!!I’ve heard of John Eldredge before, but I’m pretty picky with investing my time into other people’s recommended books and authors.I was wanting to dig into more books on ‘fatherhood’ and this book was only $11 on Amazon at the time, and the authors name was familiar, so I pulled the trigger and bought a copy.And WOW!!!!! I can’t put this book down!I've cried multiple times because this book resonates deep within me in certain stages of my life. In the healing that I am going through and in need of.Powerful book!!!Sooooo good!!!!A must read for every man!!!I’ll be definitely buying more books from him, and checking out his YouTube channel “Wild At Heart”. I’ve already listened to a few of his podcasts on that channel, and on ‘BraveCo’ channel and they are awesome.What a beautiful person John is.

A friend of mine aware of a character I'm developing for a fiction book I'm writing recommended I read this book as research based on the struggles my character is facing in his walk with the Lord. Excited by the recommendation, I downloaded and began to read John's book. First let me say it is very well written. It's a deep but smooth read...meaning there is much to learn yet it flows like poetry.I began reading with a researcher 's mind but somewhere along the way two other train of thoughts developed. First, as a single woman an ache for meeting the kind of man who is Fathered by God began to burn. What an incredible and worthwhile man that would be to have in my life and what a different world we would live in if all men embarked on the masculine journey described in this book.But perhaps more troubling was realizing just how much of this journey I myself have completed and how confused that is in fact making me. I have turned the confusion to God to clarify. I have pursued more masculine paths all my life and done so alone. It caused much pain that was only healed over the last three years when I began a committed walk with the Lord. While alone in the physical realm, He showed me how He has been right there the whole time and He is more then enough. He is all I need. The pain is gone but not the confusion. I find myself leading men and many young men have asked for my mentoring. While I am grateful...I wonder if I'm best suited for this role and still pray to encounter my own King.

I read this book in my late 40s but I wish I would’ve read it sooner. I also realize that hindsight is 20/20 but the principles here are so powerful. I pray that my sons can capture them when they read this book and I pray that launching off in a new season of life I’ll be able to embrace this journey in a more healthy way.

Our church did a Bible study using his this book series. My husband enjoyed this book.
