Glossarium: Pars I (Lingua Latina)

This is the book I ordered

For $8 my expectations were accurate. It's a straight up Latin - English setup, not arranged by chapter, but easy to use. For the price, it's worth having a a supplement, but you should still invest in a proper dictionary.

Needed this for my son for school

This is very nice to have on hand for the corresponding Latin classes. However, my only critique is that it doesn’t have all of the words that are found in the corresponding texts. As a first year college student, I used the few blank pages in the back to add some missing words and my own notes.

Great book.

The selection of vocabulary is commendable but the design is awful. The type is in two columns, the headwords on the left and the glosses in the right column. It is set in small (9-pt) type with no extra leading, so the lines are quite close together. For some shorter words there is more than two inches between the headword and the gloss, making it difficult to distinguish easily the intended gloss from the lines above and below it unless you use a ruler, index card, or some such for the eyes to follow. The glosses should have been placed immediately after the headwords, the latter of which might be set in bold type.
