2023 Upgraded Hieha Wireless CarPlay Adapter, Plug & Play Dongle for iPhone with 5.8GHz WiFi, Easy Installation and Online Updates, Compatible with OEM Wired CarPlay Car Models Year 2016 and After

I've been using this adapter for a month, and, barring any sudden failure, I am very satisfied. Set up was fairly easy. Reconnection (when the car is started) is a little slow, maybe 15-30 seconds, but it's been reliable. Switching from one iPhone to another is a little bit of a process (airplane mode or out of range for the current, 'old' phone, connect bluetooth on the 'new' phone).I purchased this particular model because it was the only one I could find that claimed compatibility with aftermarket radios. All the others all specified that the radio had to be factory installed.Let me start with my aftermarket radio, the Kenwood DMX47. The Hieha Wireless Adapter actually works BETTER than the USB connection! I had the Kenwood installed in my 2013 RAV4 two or three years ago and it's had a couple very annoying quirks. When the car is re-started (or it just drops the connection) I have to unplug the phone and plug it back in. However, I've never had to 're-plug' the wireless adapter. Problem solved! The other issue has been with the CarPlay phone connection-the person I'm talking to hears an echo of their voice when they talk. Effectively, the Kenwood CarPlay was unsuitable for anything besides a short conversation, certainly not for anything business related. I would have to unplug from CarPlay and establish a bluetooth connection to talk on the phone. However, this problem goes away when I'm using the wireless adapter. Bottom line, the wireless adapter actually works better than the USB connection on my aftermarket radio.Ironically, it doesn't work quite as well on the factory installed radio in my 2020 Subaru Forester. Although the Forester's radio is far superior, when I use the wireless adapter, some of the control functions on the steering wheel don't work. However, it does connect reliably as described above, so, overall, it's satisfactory in this car.I would recommend this product.

I've had this unit for 6 months. Initially it worked OK and connected most of the time. Recently it began connecting but no sound would play for any map software, Waze, Apple, Google. I contacted Customer Service and was told to upgrade the firmware. They provided a link to an Android update. When I questioned this for an Apple Carplay dongle they said yes to download it. I did so and it has completely bricked the unit.No function at all now. I've sent further email inquiry without any response. Save your time and money and buy something else or use a cable!

Don’t buy if you have an android because this amazing wireless car adapter is only compatible with apple products. It’s very compact-able, mine sits right inside my arm rest. The older I get the harder technology get but it was so easy to connect to the adapters Wi-Fi. All I had to do was plug in the Huey’s adapter and wait for the light to turn green! I’m able to play my music, follow my gps, and answer my phone calls wirelessly which is an upgrade. The last one I bought had a really bad connection & would fade in and out but not this one. The 5g internet speed has a strong connection and has never lost single.

This device worked very well for over a year with my aftermarket Pioneer DMX radio. Unfortunately, now almost every time I hit a bump, the connection between the device and radio is interrupted and it has to reset. It seems the USB connector inside the device is flimsy and probably on the verge of breaking so I've stopped using it out of frustration. If the upgraded version is more internally robust, I would definitely buy another one.

This works great, hooks up quickly and is pretty seamless. The only issue is the delay. I can manage the music delay, it’s not a big deal. The phone call delay is very frustrating. I talk over people because I don’t hear them speaking for a second or two. It may be a minimal issue for some, but it drives me crazy.

I am happy with my purchase. On my old phone the charging port was the first thing to fail because of how frequently I used Apple CarPlay. I just recently upgraded to the 14 Pro Max and wanted something like this to spare my charging port of issues. It was an easy install. Just make sure you are disconnected from the cars Bluetooth. Also, erase your phone from the cars Bluetooth list to avoid the car wanting to auto connect to your phone.Once paired it will connect every time you turn the car on and the device gets turned on. The connection for me is not instant all the time (2min max) and can struggle sometimes. This morning it paired but I wasn’t getting sound, I just disconnected the device from the car for about 10 seconds and reconnected it and that fixed it. There is a slight input lag when navigating CarPlay on my display but that’s to be expected when using CarPlay through Bluetooth. It’s minimal and not annoying. I haven’t gotten any bad lag with voices in phone calls, sometimes the call will stutter (same with music) but it doesn’t happen often enough to bother me.Overall very happy with my purchase. It fulfilled need of what I purchased it for and will save my charging port from expedited ware and tear. The device was also smaller than I expected which was a plus.

It’s great when it works but here are the issues when it doesn’t work:1. It takes a long time to connect when the car is first started2. It loses the connection if the device is touched3. It doesn’t reset automatically when the car is turned off and then back on again. The music doesn’t restart.4. If it doesn’t connect immediately when the car is started, the usb must be unplugged and reset.5. It won’t connect while the car is in reverse.

This was a disappointment. Lots of reviews said it was good but I had issues. Bluetooth connection eats your phone battery, so it’s not good on long trips. On my dash a mic not available symbol would appear on my dash and at times I had to disconnect the device to remove it. In areas where I had LTE connectivity before I now only had 3G. Final star was when my rear seatbelt unbuckled warning started going off when no one was sitting there. Seems to adversely affect the other electronics of the vehicle. Item is being returned.

He probado como 3 transmisores diferentes y este fue el mejor. Tuve un problema como a los 8 meses que dejó de funcionar, pero resultó que la falla fue sólo del cable. Busqué un cable de mejor calidad y todo volvió a la normalidad. Aún lo recomiendo!
