Pentel 798182 EnerGel-X RollerGel Retractable Gel Pens Bold Point Blue Ink

I love the flow of this pen. Very smooth writing without smearing at all. They seem to be able to write on a variety of different kinds of paper and they are comfortable to hold in your hand for long periods of writing notes. Would highly recommend for students and office workers. Wish they were more affordable. I would like to try the black and any other colours as the blue is vibrant and looks great on paper.

These pens do make a bold line, but it's not overly bold or sloppy. It's a bold rather than fat line.I bought a box of these with the 0.7mm points first, but they weren't quite as smooth as I wanted, so I followed-up with a box of the 1.0mm points. (Both blue ink, BTW, so no difference is attributable to a difference in ink formulations.) The 1.0mm pens lay down a nice smooth line, and the extra width of the point seems to allow the pen - and the user - to take full advantage of the smooth and free-flowing qualities of a gel pen.I'm left handed but don't drag my hand across the ink as I write, but I did test for smearing, and on regular paper I get no smearing. The only way I can get smearing is if I pull a finger immediately behind the pen, in which case I get a small smudge on my finger but no smear on the paper.I haven't had these long enough to say how long a pen will last, but as they do have a relatively wide point it's probably a fair guess that they won't last overly long. As others have noted, they arrive with a tiny bead of plastic on the tip, so there are no issues with drying prior to receipt.If it's not obvious, I really like these pens!

These are my favorite pens...they are bold, i like blue so i can tell my copies from originals, easy to hold and a good value for my money. I feel i do better work with GOOD pens!!!

I used to be able to get this locally, and now I've gotten hooked. They're lovely to write with, with no resistance on the page. Great pens!

I'm a BOLD PEN girl and these are sublime writers. I fancy a fountain pen, but they aren't always practical. These are so fabulous I've even converted my fellow pen snob sister over to them.UPDATE: I'm back buying more of these because I don't want to ever write with anything else. Highly recommend for the smooth-writer fanatic, especially the 1.0 for a bold line lover.

Doesn't always write, you have to scribble to get ink on paper. Smooth though and comfy. Doesn't dry as fast as Pilot G2, but more affordable if lost often.
