A very fancy Diary.
I do like this but there are some issues with it that could have been easily solved. The cover is nice looking but almost a bit much for me. The pages are nice, however they are all the same overall. What could have been added to improve this journal? Add page numbers to it. Have all the pages in the same color ( I do like the old brown color of the few pages that have it). Have the ability of purchase if this is going to be used as a journal or a DND book.Page numbers would have went a long way to make this journal more worth wild in getting. I say this because I do plan on using this for one of my campaigns for DND that I am making. I can put the page numbers on my own but that takes a lot of time to do something that could have already been printed on it.I understand where they were going with the different page colors. One section of color is for this one segment where the next set of color is for another. It is their way to make one book into five smaller books. However, I would have preferred that they kept the brown stain color throughout since it adds more sense of adventure as a DM reading it to the party. The book still works with how it is but just something I would have preferred. When looking for a good journal to store my own adventures I did found this. It is being marketed as such for DND usage. However, from what I can tell, they tried to mix the purpose of this book with things outside of DND. Because of that every page looks the same (the brown pages do have one tiny bit of difference as in they put in "title" on top over every front page). If being used for DND it would have been better to have some pages with character sheets (DM can use it for NPC/monsters), blank table of content, and some other misc pages. I understand because they are all the same I can turn them into character sheets, item sheets, spell lists, ect. It just feels too bland that every page is the same unlike some of the other DND journals you can find that does have those quality of life features.

When I ordered this book I hoped it would look as good as it did in the picture. I love it! Very detailed cover. It’s sturdy and well made. Extremely pleased with my purchase!

Enter a Fantasy Mindset with a Single Glance
Just started a new D&D 5e campaign. This book holds my backstory and ongoing journal. The eye on the back is similar to the eye on my dice pouch. Just retrieving this book puts my mind in fantasy mode.Like: Outside: The strong relief of the raised images, color, the implied metal perimeter, the dragon (keep it well fed), and the eye on the back.Like: Inside: The alternating sections of different color paper. The paper takes ink well. The paper is thick enough that only a faint image of opposite side text comes through (I'm writing with a 0.7 mm, black Sharpie S-Gel). It has a page mark ribbon that is handy for keeping track of my current entry point.Like: Construction: It appears to be robust. I have opened and closed it many times with no apparent challenges to the binding.Dislike, mildly: The castle on the front. It is almost Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. The image reminds so strongly of "reality" (does that even exist?) that the fantasy motif is diminished. This journal gets positive attention wherever I take it.

It was ok
It was advertised that it came with a pen. The pen wasn’t with the book when it arrived.

Beautiful journal!!
Craftsmanship of the cover is excellent. The on line photo does not show the beauty of this journal. This purchase was worth the price!!
