Hefty hatchet that gets the job done, Cut down many small trees that were green stayed sharp and wasn’t too unwieldy. Worked like a charm on smaller dried wood to make kindling. Two thumbs way up great price for what you get!

This "Amazon Basics 14-1/2 Inch Wood Splitting Axe, Steel Hatchet with Non-Slip Handle (14-Inch, Splitting Axe)" is really well made, and heavy duty. The grip is rubbery, and very "non-slip". This axe is well balanced, yet having a good weight for this particular application (wood splitting). The shape of the head is a bit non-traditional, and in practicality, very effective and efficient. this axe is not the best finish, but this is an axe, a hard use tool, I really do not consider "finish" to be something to be prestige. The hatchet has a sturdy handle but is not that sharp on arrival. I had to use a sharpening stone to get it to a manageable sharpness. Handle length is good for a nice chopping motion. It does the job.

The handle nailed the Seahawks’ colors. But the injection molded handle leaves horrid overflow seams. Using a knife, they can be cleaned up, but the rubber portion starts to crumble. The axe head casting is meh, it’s a casting. It is way heavier than I expected and am looking forward to using it.Like every hatchet and axe I’ve purchased, it needs sharpening.I’m happy I purchased this used through Amazon. I think it is a great, cheap hatchet…off harbor freight quality.

My winters are filled with considerable wood chopping to feed the log burner. My first axe lacked the heft to get through tougher hard wood, so this one is a much better prospect. It has a lovely weight and a real heavy head which as long as it's sharp does the job. The head has a thick flat area if you need to hammer through a tough log, but it's still very balanced. The reviews are spot on, this is a great axe

薪割り用に注文しました。少々本体の重量はありますが、軽い力で薪を割れます。グリップ部分も握りやすく、安全に使用できる手斧です。見た目も明るいグリーンで、工具置き場で目立つので探しやすく重宝しています。
