ChestBrew Big Bad Bear – X-Strong Bold Vietnamese Whole Bean Coffee, 20 oz

Fantastic coffee flavor that gets me going with no heartburn effects at all. I fine grind it and run it through my Mr Coffee and it's delicious with a touch sugar and equal and creamer and it's perfectomundo!

I've been using Chestbrew Whole Bean Coffee for over 4 years now, and it never disappoints! The flavor is incredibly smooth. I brew it in my French press at a water temperature of 185 degrees F. The aroma is simply delightful and fills the kitchen with a rich, inviting scent. If you're a coffee lover looking for a consistently great cup, this is definitely the one to try. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this coffee. I do not want to buy any other brand. I am obsessed with it. I have tried all their products and each one delicious. I rave about about this coffee to all my family friends and coworkers and everyone loves the taste and quality of this brand.

It really is just coffee and not the very best or strongest. Firstly, if you are used to the taste of Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee, this is far from it. It definitely is a medium roast and it has that bold flavor you would get from a single origin bean, something that I appreciate with these beans being single origin. However, brewing it in a phin with sweet condensed milk, you taste a dark roast, somewhere between a Starbucks dark Roast and Lavazza Gusto Forte. But once it's chilled it comes a little bland. Personal preference, I like my Vietnamese coffee ice cold with sweet condensed milk and still get that full flavor punch, something I was hoping for with Big Bad Bear. Overall these beans are ok, I have yet to try Chestbrew's other beans.

I'm writing this as a sort of comparison to death wish coffee. Recently I've been very interested in single origin coffees from countries in new locales and vietnam had piqued my interest. ChestBrew didn't disappoint. I didn't know that I was ordering their extra strong variety, but I was pleasently surprised. This bean packs a serious punch but it also maintains an earthy, chocolate aftertaste. It gives me that extra push I need for my extra long workdays without simultaneously tasting like death or ashes. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a lot of caffeine in their cup but still wants to taste their morning brew.

Price per lb is the best on the market. The blend and roast is on point. The flavor is very good for Viet iced coffee and pour over black as well. It was confusing to see a medium roast say that it was stronger than the dark roast, but that comes from the Robusta beans in the blend. Again, as with 99% of roasted whole bean coffees, I wish that they (and everyone else) would vacuum seal the beans and soon as they are cooled off after roasting. But, then there goes that awesome price. Oh well, guess ill have to roast my own. 20oz bag for same price as most other 12oz-ers (and better tasting). Can't miss!

Love, love, love this coffee! Really strong but REALLY smooth too. Wakes me up and powers me all throughout the day. Great aroma, flavor. Hot, iced, with cream or without, you can't go wrong! Unless you like weak coffee....
