This was my favorite movie and owned the VHS. I’m so happy to own this again and on dvd. Cult classic

i have never seen this movie but it was an amazing funny movie, it takes you the run dmc days of the beginning of hip hop and the old neighborhoods.

it's not that all is good its that one or two that makes it a mess

I'm Gonna git you Suckais a near perfect homage to the 1970's blacksploitation risingThe first time i seen this i was very young it may have been my first blacksploitation genre film i really love the film for what it is and what it does right!The Cast is perfect (It's a shame they couldn't get Pam Grier though to make some type of cameo)Keenen Ivory Wayans (Jack Spade) just a perfect 70's blacksploitation nameThis is Keenen Ivory first major role and he does a decent job overallBernie Casey (John Slade) Great actor he is flat out awesome in this roleAntonio Fargas (Flyguy) Fargas is pure 1970's Retro he might not be in much of the film but, the Pimp of the Year flashback scene is epicSteve James (Kung Fu Joe) a super underrated character actor that left us way to soonRIP Steve James (1952–1993)Isaac Hayes (Hammer)Jim Brown (Slammer)Ja'net DuBois (Ma Bell) really great actress the woman was on Good Times that makes her golden in my bookDawnn Lewis (Cheryl) this is Dawnn's first major acting role and she's perfectJohn Vernon (Mr. Big) I'd love to know the story to how they got Vernon to do this flickhe makes this film his own every scene he's just so fun to watchKadeem Hardison (Willie)Damon Wayans (Leonard) Both Kadeem and Damon play off each other perfectlyThem having to chose over the stairs or the window is brilliant and both play it up the proper wayThen you have these nutty cameos that come out of nowhereClarence Williams III and Eve Plumb playing husband and wifeJohn Witherspoon, Hawthorne JamesGary Owens playing himselfand you can't forget aboutAnne-Marie Johnson as Cherry one of the "worst pick-ups in all the 1980'sIt's so bizarre and crazy Anne-Marie makes that scene along with Keenen's reactionsIn 2001 MGM released it on dvd under there Soul Cinema brandIt was a early MGM Catalog title so the transfer was uglyIt was a poor excuse for a digital release (The audio was also less then perfect)Less then a year ago a Region 2 UK Blu ray was released i put off on getting itThen Kino Lorber put out a release date for a U.S. versionSo i waited for a proper price drop then pre-ordered itPicture Quality: The blu ray is very impressive it looks very good (Not perfect but, it's night and day next to the poor MGM dvd)Audio: the DTS-HD 2.0 surround sound could be better why no 5.1 ??But, it's a much better sounding audio track next to the original dvdIs this a must have blu ray without a doubt if you grew up on this film it's a must haveThis is the way it was meant to lookEven if you never seen it and love Grindhouse/blacksploitation filmscheck it out this was way before the Grindhouse genre returnedThis film isn't given nearly enough credit or respect as a solid hybrid of comedy meets actionIt still holds up and look better then everExtras:**Theatrical Trailer (which was ported over from the MGM dvd,***Making Of***Additional Interviews & B-roll (Both these extras are old but, very interesting to see but, it's less then 10 minutes)The extras are lackluster to say the least...... (Gonna check and see if the UK import has any worth wild extras)Overall this is the best and only version to ownWill it ever get a proper Collector's Edition/Special Edition it's hard to say but, this will have to do for now 9.5/10

I absolutely LOVED this movie a lot!!! Keenen Ivory Wayans directed a hilarious comedy about his character Jack Spade, whose brother June Bug 'OD'd on gold! All the actors and actresses in the movie were absolutely hilarious! I loved actress Dawnn Lewis as Cheryl, and she made me laugh so hard about having 'that time of the month' and she had the 'devil in her'! Damon Wayans and Kadeem Hardison were also hilarious as the bad guys who worked for 'Mr. Big'; 'Should you take the window or the stairs?' They always took the stairs until the end when Damon's character jumped out the window! I also loved actors Bernie Casey, Isaac Hayes and Jim Brown as the 'old school' cops who helped Jack Spade catch the bad guys; Clarence Williams III and Eve Plumb were also hilarious as the interracial couple; Anne-Marie Johnson was also hilarious as Cherry, a lady who was fake with her looks and she wanted to be with Jack. Chris Rock was also hilarious as the cheap customer; Antonio Fargas was great as 'Flyguy', a pimp from the 1970's who was getting out of jail; Ja'net DuBois stole the show as Ma Bell, who always seemed to save Jack anytime he was in trouble! I loved the ending when 'Mr. Big' is killed, Jack gets his late brother's wife and I loved the 'theme music' by rappers Boogie Down Productions. Priceless! I didn't dislike this movie at all. It was action pack comedy and crazy all throughout the movie. Especiallywhen they were given choice to leave

As a kid growing up in the 70s I loved the blackxplotion movies so when I first saw this at the cinema a put a smile on my face a spoof of the movies from the time get the R1 if you can as R2 is cut. folks always seem to be putting the Wayans bros down but for the movies they put out but I have enjoyed their out put haven't seen the scary movies franchise as yet but as Micky take goes this is one of the better ones with a good soundtrack

This is one of the best spoofs I have ever seen,totall beats all the naked guns and scary movies put together.Keenan Ivory wayans is a great director and has an eye for great comedy.The person who steals the whole film is Flyguy played by none other than antonio fargas (Huggy Bear).Just watch his poem titled 'Bitch better have my money' to know what i'm talkin about.You will watch that same scene over and over again.Guarenteed!

This is my favourite film of ALL TIME!!! I remember when I first saw this film, it had me in stitches. It has never failed to amuse me or cheer me up when I am down. Without shadow of a doubt the Wayans Brothers finest work. No other spoofs even come close to this film!! And Chris Rocks cameo is hilarious!! Absolutely fabulous film. As someone else said, if you want a good comedy, watch this you seriously won't be dissapointed!!!!

I like my B movies and something I like even more are fake b movies. This laugh's at the whole blaxploitation genre.
