SAT Pacing Watch (Standard + Extended Time)

I took the bands off and my son took it to the SAT and then also to the ACT and it worked great but for the ACT you have to know that you have to advance a bunch of pre set times to be able to set your own timer as this watch is set for the new SAT but not for ACT. If you can handle doing this then it works for ACT. You just have to know the times for each section, advance through the preset times and set the watch according to the time of the section you will take. It is not difficult. Good luck! It really helped my son keep track of time to stay on pace. This is the only watch I found that doesn't make a sound and without the bands he just put it on the table in front of his test to keep time.

This watch specifically says that it works for the SAT and that it’s the only watch on the market that does. It is not customizable at all for the SAT. It’s not even customizable for double extra time (ACT or SAT) - only time and a half.It has ONE customizable timer section. Which is useless for the SAT because it has 3 sections, not just one.If you go on their website, it has “Instructions for the Non-ACT tests” and it just links right back to the ACT instructions. This watch is a good idea in theory but doesn’t work for SAT tests or ACT tests with double the extra time.

Does not come with instructions, so you can download the instructions at testingtimers.com. The sections are set for the new SAT. Seems like it will be good for my daughter when she takes the SAT.

Outstanding resource. This watch is preset for every section of the test, and the built-in tracking dot (tracing a dashed line around the periphery of the watch face) disappears as time counts down and points to the exact question number/passage that the student should ideally be on by that time. You can't get a regular watch to do that.As a professional tutor and frequent reviewer of test prep books and companies, I recommend it to all my students. Consider buying directly from the website though, as more than a few of my students have reported getting the ACT watch sent to them by mistake when purchasing through Amazon.

Even though the display on the watch says it's an SAT watch, the preset times are still the ACT times. Same problem as many other reviews noted. But I bought it anyway, telling myself that these were mostly older reviews and the company must have figured out hot to avoid this error by now. But nope, they still can't get it right. I will return this watch today. Please save yourself the trouble and do not buy this watch for the SAT.

We looked everywhere (15 -20 stores) for a watch that did not beep and was not tied to a cell phone. We could not find a watch like this anywhere. I came across this video regarding the testing timer where they encountered the same thing and then produced this product. I highly recommend it not only for the actual exam but for practice exams as well. My daughter will be using this watch all summer for the SAT prep class she will be taking.

They sent the wrong watch (ordered SAT version, received ACT). Ok, no biggie - shipping errors happen. The problem is that the presets are not at all adjustable and the lone open timer is extremely hard to set and the operation is not at all intuitive. Imagine spending your entire break trying to set it up for the next section. That stress isn't worth it. Long story short, returned this thing about an hour after receiving it. I picked up a cheap Timex with timer/stopwatch and had it silenced in about 2 minutes.

The extended time settings are not per exam or section - they are for a '5 Hour' time block - which does absolutely no good for an extended time student trying to manage dwindling time on a section. Setting custom times is cumbersome, and they cannot be saved. Buying this product for ACT Extended Time is NOT RECOMMENDED. Returning to Amazon. Instructions are written in microscopic print and hard to follow. If you want this watch for Standard ACT, I would say it looks like a good product.
