Comfortable Backpack- Superb Carry-On
We have been in the market for a reasonably sized backpack to use as THE piece of luggage for a journey to Europe. My wife is a petite lady who didn't want to be in pain lugging a big backpack or suitcase and this Osprey was perfect. It has ample pockets so items can be easily sorted. She used a packing cube in the main body of the pack and was able to find all the space she needed keeping the weight between 18 and 20 pounds for the entire journey. The main compartment was skinny yet she found this to be an asset as she was forced to bring what she needed without carrying unnecessary "stuff." She says, "I love the load lifters, the space between pack and my back allowed for great airflow so it was cool, lots of pockets including a super useful small one hidden at the top for quick access to small essentials, and the pockets on the waist belt were very useful." Originally this was to be a temporary pack for this trip and then we would purchase a fancier, more expensive pack for hiking o. the AppalachianTrail and other hikes. Now she feels this is exactly what she wants to carry. A wonderful purchase, indeed.

GREAT PACK
Used this to hike Mt Kilimanjaro. It's an amazing pack. Great compartments, deep side pockets for Nalgene bottles. Fits clothes needed for the trail, and I found the pocket inside perfect for my 3L Camelbak. I love that it comes with a raincover. Inly challenge for me, is it doesn't stowe easily under an airplane seat.

Not a lot of space for such a big bag...
I'm amazed at how lightweight this pack is, especially considering the rigid frame. It's very comfortable to wear. It doesn't have a lot of space though, so this is definitely just a day bag for essentials. Yet it kind of seems awfully big for that purpose. A big bag that doesn't have a lot of storage space. I will echo the reviewer who says the hip belt pockets are awkward. I'm surprised Osprey didn't do a better job of placing those so that they are easier to reach and ensuring they were big enough to hold a smart phone, which they are not. But aside from my quibbles, it's definitely made with the quality you'd expect from Osprey.

Love the bag
Searched wide and far for a bag to travel light and this fits my needs well. Great build, smooth zippers, great comfort and ventilation. I’m 5’3” and wanted to downsize my old backpack. Traveled a month in Italy without issues and look forward to more adventures with it. Was able to do good day hiking with the bag to carry 2 people’s worth of stuff. My 6’1” husband could wear this comfortably too when we took turns carrying. Pretty large for a 1 person day carry but not the worst if you just want to one bag a long trip with this. My only gripe is that the front vertical pocket is a bit limiting in what you can put in it, but that’s minor for me.

Sternum strap slides with great difficulty
This Siri’s 24 return says”used mint” but it has almost non functional straps on the front; the sternum straps slides. Shame on Amazon if there’s no way for you to return it without it saying mint or shame on the returner if they don’t bother to tell the next guy that there’s a serious problem with the item. Nice backpack though.

Water Bottle Pockets Inaccessible
For years I used an Osprey Stratos 36 backpack and I loved it. When it wore out I didn't think about getting anything different. Well the 36 is no longer made. So I bought the 34. Slightly smaller capacity. Opened it up, unwrapped it. Adjusted it. Put it on. Adjusted it more. Found out I could not reach the bottles in the side water bottle pockets regardless of any adjustment I made. The pockets are located higher up on the backpack than on the Stratos 36. I prefer to hike with accessible water bottles. If I want to drink of water I don't want to stop and take off the backpack. This was not a problem with the Stratos 36. Inaccessible water bottles while is pack is on my back is a deal breaker. I have to return this backpack. Sorry. Everything else about the backpack seemed fine.

Perfect sized bag for my backpacking trip

i spent a few days researching what bag to take on the camino de santiago and this one came highly recommended. I did the Portuguese way in September when the temperature was about 20-25 degrees, covered 300k and completed it in 11 days. This had just the right amount of space for everything i needed without the temptation to overpack and make it too heavy. I used my hydration bladder as it has space to attach and I also made use of the included waterpoof cover which was easy to attach and put away again. It's a great design so your back doesn't get too hot and lots of ways top adjust to get the fit right. Seems like good quality and durable and a good price on here!

Very comfortable to wear with the mesh on the back - it fits just perfectly to the body. Perfect for 1-2 days hiking and bike trips - it doesn't touch the helmet. It has 3 small and one big sections. The front pocket could have been a mesh, but it is also ok. The side strips allows you to attach some extra luggage. Overall I like it a lot.
