Easy removes all hard algae film.
The media could not be loaded. Amazingly simple to use. Effortlessly removing 3 month thick coats of algae that I was dreading to work on. The blade is inserted between the plates after removing screws. Insert the screws thru the plates and holes in the razor and lock down tightly. Be careful since you have an exposed razor's edge with this tool. The shallow angle of the blade allows the blade to slide against the glass or plastic wall without scarring. Don't increase the angle. Work on the same side of the tank your next to, not the opposite side. There is little pressure needed. I wish the handle were thicker for grip, but being gentle and practicing is all you need to do. See the video for an example of how easily it removes algae. I'd scrub with my old plastic blade until my arm ached and still leave algae. I highly recommend this tool.Update April 20, 2020: Found us in a fresh blade makes a huge difference. Swap edges on the provided blades as they are double edged. Still love this thing!

GAME CHANGER. MUST HAVE.
I was at my wits end with this stubborn hard to scrub off algea in my koi tank.I was looking for a handheld razor blade tool but found this GEM!WOW.it works flawlessly. I'm amazed.I used it on my other tank which wasnt as bad and it really helped brighten up my cichlids.Someone mentioned that they couldnt use it on the back glass if it's against a wall but I was able to.This tool is a game changer. And yes be careful that blade is sharp! It comes with a pack of blades as well and it is double sided.

Very sturdy and no rust issues
This is a simple yet impressive scraper. First, the handle and rod is solid stainless steel. no bending or anything like that. just a solid rigid and sturdy pole. The head is also stainless steel and the attachment method is simple. 2 screws hold down a plate that sandwiches the blade. The blades are then and flexible to contour to your glass. I have used this a few times now and is perfect. I use it to flatten my substrate, clean glass, fan my substrate to suspend waste to be sucked up by my filter. Go with this if you need a scraper and avoid those multi tools or anything plastic. I regret my past purchase and finally found a staple to my glass cleaning needs.

My favorite aquarium cleaning tool
One of my tanks constantly gets an unsightly buildup of algae on the glass. Before I got this scraper I was trying to use a scraper I got at Petsmart to clean it off but the edge wasn’t sharp enough, and the scraper was too bulky to get in between the glass and a big piece of driftwood I have in my tank. I then tried just using a razor held in my hands, but 1) it felt dangerous holding a loose razor and 2) I still couldn’t get in between the tight spaces in my aquarium. This razor blade on a stick is the perfect solution. It’s actually pretty fun and satisfying watching the algae fall away from the glass as I scrape it off. I also love that the blade is easily replaceable so I always have a nice sharp edge for cleaning. The construction feels plenty sturdy as well. Highly recommend for the maintenance kit of any aquarium hobbyist.

Absolutely unbelievable.
I wish I had a before pic but I cleaned it in like three minutes! Look at my review history I never go crazy about a product but this this is INCREDIBLE!!! It’s as solid as it needs to be- not sure what others are talking about. I could swear I was scratching the glass but I looked through every angle and not a scratch. Plenty of replacement blades (one should last a year easy) and it’s just as easy to clean the top of the tank as the bottom. It does only have like a 1.5” blade but I think it’s to apply the perfect amount of pressure so you only need one pass/ two max. Cannot recommend highly enough especially at that price

Great scraper
This thing is phenomenal. Simple, sturdy, easy to use. I had a pretty nasty build up of algae on my 55 gallon after spending the winter away from home and having a friend feed my fish. I had the glass clean 10 minutes after unboxing this thing. It's literally just a razor blade on the end of a metal stick, but it's better than any algae scraper I have ever had. I'm so mad at myself for spending HOURS scrubbing algae with the traditional style scrubber. Never again! My only warning here is to be very careful using it with fish or other living animal in the tank, if you catch one with the blade, you're gonna need a new fish.

THE perfect aquarium maintenance tool
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting. The angle is just right, the blade hits the glass at just the right pitch to do the job. This tool is also great to use to scrape sap off my windshield, I just learned. Bonus!I do wish it could be made just a little bit shorter. My mini-cube is on a shelf with just a few inches clearance under the shelf. So it’s a little tough reaching all the crevasses. But I manage well enough.

Items as described- extra razors
The media could not be loaded. This came with the box of 10 razors separate from the scraper (2 bags). There was 1 single razor in the bag with the scraper. When I opened the box to count the 10 razors, I counted 11, so I got a total of 12 razors with the scraper- bonus.I have a shrimp tank I've been running for about a year and the magnetic scraper wasn't cutting it anymore. I had put off buying a blade scraper but figured it was about time. I didn't have to use a lot of pressure to scrape off my quite built-up algae. As far as I'm concerned, this is definitely worth it.

The best
After 40 years of keeping fish I have always found razor blade scrapers the best way to remove stubborn algae, and this is the best, solid s/steel construction, adjustable length handle with a comfortable grip. Its a bit of a fiddle to insert the blade but im not going to complain.I find it very amusing some reviewers complain about it being sharp and possible to cut yourself, one person even complaining he cut a fish with it, that must have taken some doing fish avoid objects used to clean tanks with. Its a tool with a sharp blade like any other tool used for cutting through things, would you complain the same way about a Stanley knife, common sense really. BUY IT ITS A GREAT PRODUCT.

Should last if looked after properly.
Bought this as a preventative tool more than anything, as i have a newly planted tank running co2 set up.I noticed a lot of reviews left negative comments about the scraper going rusty, cheap metal going rusty? No way sherlock!!! An item like this needs to be cleaned and dried after every use, or obviously it will go rusty, so i plan on cleaning and wiping off the water once its been used and dismantled again, with no water left to settle anywhere, it should last a good while. The blades are not stiff like razor blades, these are much more thinner, more flexible, which i think is a cracking idea, but the blade arm feels sturdy, it has very little play when the shorter section is used, i wont be using the extender as my tank is only 60L, but i will keep it as i might be getting a bigger tank soon. All in all, pleased with the algae scraper, i will look after it properly and make sure it is out of the reach of the children.

Worked a treat on the fish tank
Bought this to help get my sons fish tank under control. We had tried a 'recommended' scrubber that we though was doing the biz but ended up leaving a slight film on the glass as well as dispersing the algae in very small pieces. With this razor scaper we cleaned the tank walls speedily with minimal fuss and in one pass each time. It would congeal in one lump which made for quicker removal than the scrubber releasing small particals everywhere for the filter to do the work.It came with one blade AND a box of blades so will good for an eternity. The handle is sturdy and you never feel out of control. Good solid product that worked a treat

This is SO good, I actually wrote this review to let people know! (and even made some pics)
Just think about it - how good does this have to be to make someone who just finished a stressful day at work sit down and write a glowing algae scraper review?Yes, this thing is THAT good. Promise.Over the past few months I developed a serious case of The Lazies(TM) and cleaning my aquarium glass got pushed to The Next Week(TM). Finally I was barely able to see inside (and also mistakenly got the impression my grass carpet grew a LOT recently - yes, because I saw a lot of green and the algae on the glass somehow did not register!) and so got motivated.First attempt I used my magnetic scrubber that sits permanently on the glass. Almost died and the green - what felt like at the time - cement just laughed at me.The second attempt I tried plastic algae scrubber that came with my gravel vac. The algae smirked and went back to doing its thing. The third time I tried any hard plastic bits I had around and then - I'm ashamed to admit - when desperation struck, my nails. The algae cackled at me.And then it just sat there, mocking me and my sore arms, my spazming hands and my aching back. I thought to hell with it, a green rectangle making trickling sounds is as good style as well. A bit niche. But at least I won't, you know, die, trying to do something that's apprently impossible and I just missed the memo! But then. THEN. I found this. This beautiful razor wielding, hard steel magical want of wonders and rainbows. It was my last chance. My last hope. I saw a random guy 20-years-into-the-hobby swear by this thing up and down and I said okay. OKAY. Random guy, it's you and me, it's noon, and the algae is locked and ready to go.Two days passed. The package has arrived. And so, with a heart noticably thumping up and down my chest, with hands already shaking in the anticipation of the pain and disappointment that was surely - surely! - to come, I unpacked this little marvel. It doesn't look like much, I know. But don't be fooled! This right here, ladies and gentlemen, is THE pinnacle of human ingenuity, the very apex of what our millenia-old civilization has to offer!I present to you..... The SCRAPER 10000!!! (because yes, it IS over 9000 babeeeeh!)In all seriousness tho, just look at the pics I attached - the green one is what the entire aquarium looked like pre-Mirracle-Scraper. The second one is what it looks like now, with just a green bit left at the back for comparison (okay okay not really, just couldn't easily reach ion there and left it "for the shrimp").The whole thing took about 45 minutes of very little effort (compared with other contraptions I used). But you need to use a proper technique: place the razor edge against the algae at an angle of between 10 and 45 degrees from vertical (so straight up is 0 degrees), in other words wall here -> |/ <-scraper. Now, the hand holding the other end (because please don't grab the razor okay?) will be way up and will be holding the scraper so that the razor touches the glass while maintaining the angle. It will be the counterbalance for your other hand. What will give you the necessary leverage to actually scrape, is your other hand. Place it about 15cm (about a length of your palm from fingertips to wrist) above the razor and apply pressure on the scraper rod towards the glass. When yuo do that, your other hand up above should exert a little pressure the opposite way, all the while maintaining the angle of the scraper against the glass. Now, with your 'up' hand, start moving the scraper over algae and let your other hand follow while keeping the pressure even. Experiment a little, start with very light pressure on both hands and - while scraping - increase as necessary until the algae starts coming off (you DON'T want to brute force it and possibly injure yourself or the aquarium, start off gentle!).Once you have that figured out, the resi really is just 10-20 minutes of doing the same thing and that's it! You're done, your sanity restored and your aquarium looking beautifil once again!Good luck.

Should have got one years ago
Sheerness and thickness lol. Not really applicable here. But, sturdy build quality, two handles and a pack of blades, what's not to like. Used this yesterday to remove some stubborn little green patches, and, now I wish I had bought one a long time ago.Yes, they are very very sharp, so you need to use a little common sense, especially if you have nosey fish as we do, and yes, you need to go careful with it, apart from that, it's superb. For getting rid of that annoying algae that your normal scrubber won't remove, this is bang on
