These are really nice binoculars; very compact, easy to adjust, and bring objects a lot closer without losing clarity. I would say if you want them for general use around the home or while on vacation, they are perfect for things like watching wildlife, checking things out from a cruise ship balcony, watching either youth or professional sports events, watching a play, hunting, and any other activities where you would like to see things closer and clearer which are a fair distance away.I would add that, they are like all binoculars, there can be some, "shake", or, "jumpiness", when using them. However, I don't find this bothersome and is usually dependent on different factors not having to do with the binoculars themselves. That said, they are quite lightweight so you aren't going to have, "tiring arms", like some models.

I have macular degeneration and I use this binocs for checking whether or not the 'walk' sign across the street is 'on' or 'off'. AND I can read the street signs now, too. For those purposes, it works well. I think it will probably work well for checking price tags at the store, too, but I haven't tried that yet. I can also look out my 3rd-floor apartment window, across a wide parking lot, to the apt complex's swimming pool and see if anyone is in there. Unfortunately, bums (yeah, ok, 'poor down-on-their-luck walk a mile in their shoes homeless ppl') are in there or not. We don't lock our pool. If there is a bum in there I call mgmt & have them drive the derelect out. These binocs work well for that task, too. I am pleased with my purchase. :)
