Perfect for my needs
This item arrived in perfect condition in an undamaged cardboard box. The lid is NOT a tight fit but this is not an issue for me since I am keeping it inside a plastic dustbin. The external measurements are as follows: Height is 15"/38cm including the top handle. It tapers from 9"/23cm diameter at the bottom to 10.5"/27cm across the top rim. The diameter at its widest part including the side handles is 14"/35cm. It seems to be quite robust and holds all my bird feed (50 fat balls, a pack of loose seeds, a pack of other suet nuggets and a couple of small packs of robin food) so I'm happy! It fits neatly inside my old plastic round dustbin for extra protection from the weather. Even if any passing rodents happen to catch a whiff of the goodies inside and succeed in gnawing through the plastic dustbin, I'd like to see them risk losing their gnashers on THIS little beauty!
