I have an application where the entire switch may be under water. Will the switched be damaged?

How far down from bottom of pan can the switch be set or how much water will be left in pan once switch turns back off?

Once attached to side of pan, how high should the condensor cop float switch be above the pan? Should it touch the bottom or be an inch above?

How far past the wall of the pan does this extend into the pan (not up and down)? Also, is the height of the float adjustable?
