Support team is the best
I bought the Risinglink power failure detector so I would know if the circuit breaker powering our garage refrigerator ever went out. On the Amazon reviews, I had seen that some others had trouble with wifi connectivity. I'm an electrical engineer and thought it shouldn't be an issue for me.But, in fact I did have trouble and could not get it to connect to my wifi router. After a few hours of trying various methods, I emailed the Risinglink support team for advice. They responded quickly and together we tried to get to the bottom of my problem. It took a while, but we eventually discovered a problem with my iPhone setting that corrupted the wifi password entry. Once that obscure problem was identified and corrected, the power failure detector now works like a champ. As it turns out, there was never been a problem with the device itself. It's now working perfectly in my garage.I can't say enough about the support team. I had an obscure issue, not really due to a problem with the Risinglink device, but the support team stayed in contact with me with recommendations to try. I've never seen this level of dedication to finding a solution, not a workaround. Risinglink should be the model for all tech support teams.

Excellent device - even works with USB outlets
This device has already saved my refrigerated food from spoiling. My new refrigerator needs to be plugged into a GFCI outlet and occasionally it trips the circuit. Apparently this can happen with certain newer refrigerators. I was able to plug this power detector directly into a USB socket in the outlet so it doesn't even block any plugs.About a week ago, I was awakened by the beeping power outage alarm on this device and was able to re-enable the circuit so my refrigerator was only without power for a few minutes. Thank goodness! I also received the notifications via text and email, which would have been helpful if I wasn't at home. This little device gives me peace of mind and I don't need to worry about any food spoiling. I'm VERY happy with my purchase.

So Far, so Good…
I was hesitant about ordering this device because of some reviewers who experienced difficulties connecting it to their WIFI. I use Spectrum and their newest system uses a dual 2.4 and 5G. The Mfg specifies its 2.4G compatible only. I took a chance. Read the instructions SEVERAL times and made sure I followed it to a tee. I was pleasantly surprised when it a connected immediately. I set it up next to the modem and router to make sure they could communicate without problems. I received a text saying I was up and running. The next day, I unplugged it, waited a minute and plugged it back in just to see what would happen. Sure enough, I got a text and email telling me power was interrupted, then another to tell me power was restored. You have to be sure if you unplug it or it loses power ( and WiFi connection) for more than 30 seconds and the box’s red light is blinking you have to push the white button to re-establish the lost WiFi Connection.Today, I took the unit to our outdoor barn where last week, For some reason , yet to be determined, the circuit breaker to the barn tripped and we were without power going to our barn and huge freezer. It was only by luck we found out when the irrigation man came to blow out the sprinkler system for the winter and he said there was no power. That was the catalyst for me buying this unit. We didn’t have whole house power failure, just the one circuit popped. With prices so high, I can’t afford to lose a freezer full of food.I plugged it in and the red light was blinking. I pushed the button and the green light came on. Again, I receive a text and email showing me power interruption and subsequent restoration. I turned off the Alarm during set up since the barn is 50 feet away and wouldn’t be heard. I’m getting a good WiFi signal through walls and 50 ft.Although we have a whole house Generator, it won’t activate if only 1 breaker pops. Now I halve extra protection and peace of mind.UPDATE 10-7-24 I must report an update. I received an email notice from RISINGLINK that they noticed a communications problem with my unit. It was NOT sending connectivity activiny to them like it should.I discovered.........after MANY EMAILS BETWEEN MYSELF AND RISINGLINK..... that I had accidently turned off my unit even though the green light was on. The White button when depressed with either LOCK or TURN OFF the unit. I found I had accidently TURNED OFF my unit. I MUST GIVE PRAISE to this company for notifying me of a connectivity problem, for helping me ( via emails) find out what my problem was, and following up letting me know all was well and how strong my connection was with my WIFI signal a couple days later. FAST, PATIENT, THOROUGH CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THE SALE...... These folks BACK UP THEIR CLAIMS!!!

I found a better product than this. This one sucks.
Don't buy this. I've had nothing but problems with it from the beginning. Offline notifications have been sporadic and has resulted in my septic pump, which it was monitoring, to have stopped twice and backed up plumbing into my house. And flooded my floors. And there is supposedly an alarm that I have set up to alert me when power is lost but it has never worked.I've contacted customer service multiple times with my issues.Apparently, I have not been online since April and when I was trying to refresh and set it up I was not able to. And now, despite repeated contacts with the customer support, they are now saying I am out of warranty.I have since found A better device that I recommend and that is Necto Cellular Temperature & Humidity Monitor. It will do the same thing to notify you with the loss of power however it is constantly connected to a cellular service without having to pay for such service. I just started it but I already recommend it because it seems to work as I need it to work to notify me of a loss of power of my circuit. For some reason my GFCI likes to trip and I have already had a professional plumber try to fix it.
